Finally got my Besace!

Argh it's FABULOUS!!! Completely and utterly LOVE the bubble leather, it adds so much to the bag, and the shape is so comfy looking. Does the messenger come only in one size?

No there is a small one and a large one (which I think is travel size).

On the smaller one the strap is a little different though

So they actually come in S, M and L?
Also, Bubbled means Textured? Is this also buffulo leather?

I have no pics of the large, but I was told it was oversized like a travel bag.
Bubbled leather does mean textured like the Easy bags... I have no idea if it's buffalo. Hope this helps

I'd be interested to hear what your tag says about that. (All the YSL tags specify the leather type.) I've been assuming the Besaces are calf. Veau = calf

mine has a card on how to take care of the bag (its generic it's the same one I got for my Downtowns).... a small control, authenticity card. On the price tag, it has this code

based on the guide u provided its closest to buffalo and deer.

YSL bags come with a tag like this--indicating year, season, serial number, leather type, color code--but sometimes the tag is missing, particularly if purchased at a department store. (I didn't get such a tag with my Majorelle, even though I bought it at a YSL boutique. )

My bag doesn't have it. I got it at the NM at Fashion Island, in Newport but it was shipped from Vegas... Maybe they took it out. It did look brand new, like it just came out of the box... it still had tissue arounf the metal parts of the strap.

^Don't worry, I'm sure your bag is brand new. Like I said, sometimes the tag just gets lost. I didn't get one for my Majorelle purchased at a YSL boutique!

As I said, I'm pretty sure that the Besaces are calf (veau) that has been treated to give the pebbled/bubbly effect. In fact, Saks refers to the leather as "shrunken," which is a commonly used technique. (Shrinking is how they make Dooney & Bourke "all weather leather," I think!)
