Been thinking of getting an eternity band ring for stacking. Tried on the Félicité 2.1mm from Van Cleef. It shines so beautifully. I know Van cleef uses high quality diamonds but considering the drop of diamond prices, do you think this is still worth it? Current retail price is $7,850. Have you tried this piece before in the boutique? Thank you

This isn’t a purchase I would make, but it’s an individual decision. I love VCA and would not hesitate to spend on a piece that truly exemplifies the VCA heritage and craftsmanship. This is a simple eternity band, and while I am certain it is beautiful, I would choose an independent jeweler where I could get something comparable for far less money, or something with much more substantial diamonds for a similar price. But it is very much a personal choice.

I feel like it’s always the same debate—some say it’s not worth it to buy diamonds from a brand, and I totally get that. You can 100% get bigger diamonds for the same price unbranded. I had similar doubts when choosing my diamond studs and engagement ring, but after trying on many unbranded options, I realized I value the craftsmanship and setting just as much as the stones, if not more.

I wasn’t able to find a local jeweler whose work truly met my standards—everything I saw unbranded had small imperfections. I also don’t have the time or energy to invest in searching for that perfect jeweler I may never find, so I decided to overpay for branded diamonds. And honestly, I’m happy with my choices. The stones may not be the biggest, but they’re beautifully set and finished to a high standard, which makes a difference.

Another thing is that I don’t want to commit to a product I haven’t seen and tried on, so it’s challenging to work with a jeweler that creates something custom. That’s another reason why I lean toward established brands where I can see, compare, and try on the piece before making a decision.

That said, I would explore other brands to make sure you’re happy with your choice. From my research, Graff emerged as the brand with the most reasonable diamond prices among luxury brands, so it might be worth checking out as well!

You are absolutely right. I remember I fell in love with the brand because of the craftsmanship. Thank you.

I love VCA for their signature pieces but would not go for something simple like this myself. They do use beautiful stones, but honestly, you can get almost the same thing and at less money by going elsewhere. Something simple like an eternity band is a good opportunity to use a local family jeweler. Just my two cents

Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Will definitely check Graff. When I tried on the Felicite it sparkled so beautifully. I really like it but I didn’t want to get it right then and then. Wanted more time to think things through.

I didn’t buy my eternity ring at a brand but I would consider if I didn’t have one. The diamonds on my paved VCA pieces are such stunning bright and shiny that I look a lot at my VCA diamonds 💎 !!

Same here. I agree their diamonds really do shine a lot. I often find myself starring at my alhambra diamond pendant.

I purchased the Félicité band and absolutely adore it. The sparkle is amazing. My thought on diamond jewelry is that with lab created stones becoming more prevalent, the design/designer becomes more important. I know I’m in the minority on this forum though.its really a gorgeous band and I’m considering getting more in yellow and rose gold.
