Hi all! i'm considering buying a pre-loved Louis Vuitton side trunk, specifically, the navy blue "Monoglam" side trunk model.

However, I want to wear the side trunk with the "slouchy" look. Is the Monoglam material supple enough to give the side trunk the slouchy look?

I've noticed a lot of reviews mentioned that the monoglam material is stiff and feels plastic-y.

Most the reviews were posted soon after purchase.

For those of you who have bought Monoglam LV bags (especially side trunk), I would greatly appreciate your feedback!
  1. Is monoglam material supple enough to give the side trunk the "slouchy look"?
  2. Does the monoglam material soften up with use time?
  3. How does the monoglam material hold up over time?
  4. Does it really feel sticky, cheap?
  5. What size is the Monoglam side trunk? MM or PM? I want the larger MM size that measure is approximately 9 inches long
  6. Do you love/hate your LV Monoglam side trunk? Are you still happy with it??
Thank you in advance for your feedback! It's a big purchase and I may not be able to make return bc would be buying from eBay or pre-loved market. So any feedback helps!IMG_3951.jpeg

I have a monoglam East West Pochette Metis and I absolutely love it 😍. Has held up great so far and I just love the rainbow effect with all the colors. But it can also look very subtle in some lighting.
It's a thick material, so it's not supple. It doesn't feel sticky or cheap at all. I'm really happy with it.
Hope this helps a bit, good luck with your decision :flowers:!

Thank you for your feedback! Do you have a LV bag in the monoglam material? If yes, how is it holding up? Are you still happy with it?
I had the Speedy 20 but ended up selling it due to being annoyed at the small opening. It looked essentially brand new even though I’d used it quite a bit.

All MM side trunks in all materials have to be karate chopped/pushed down in the center to get the slouched look. None of them slouch on their own.

Blue monoglam side trunk was only made in the MM size —and I’m pretty sure that was the only size for all monoglam colors.

It’s PVC coated denim. I don’t think it feels sticky, but my tactile experience is different from yours. In the same way, how you experience textures, and how they make you feel, is your own unique experience. The closest thing the Monoglam surface feels like is a vinyl sticker, or “stained-glass” effect paint. If you don’t like the feel of vinyl, you probably won’t like how Monoglam feels.

My monoglam side trunk is not an everyday bag, and I doubt that is an everyday bag for anyone. Mine has held up perfectly fine for something I’ve used less than 10x since launch. No noticeable material softening, since I don’t use it much. Little to no hardware scratches too.

I don’t regret my monoglam side trunk. It’s made really well, and the detailing is really nice. If anything, I’m just a little upset that the limited edition side trunks always break $4k+ USD when bought from LV. They’re nice, but I wouldn’t price them as if they’re collector-type items. LV has turned them into a cash-cow style, so you’ll always get an iteration of it with a collection launch now.
