I have to buy my first real suit. I am starting my first year in law school and heard it's a good idea to have at least one suit for interviews and various events. I don't like Zara or Banana Republic, I am looking for higher quality and more unique pieces. I am also very petite, I wear XS or size 0-2. I am willing to pay $500-1000 for the complete outfit. Which brands would you recommend? :)

Theory because they have petite sizing. I used to be a huge fan but am less so now because they have started using synthetic blends. Try to stick with wool or wool with a hint of spandex because the suit will drape better and last longer with proper cleaning.

Oh I just noticed that you're in Canada, so try Judith & Charles as well.

I like the suits form Talbot's. I am short, and their petite sizing is perfect. Their suits are very classic, but you can add your own personality with shoes, shirts, or accessories. And they will not kill a budget.

Quick update:

I bought my first professional suit at Theory a year ago but recently started shopping at Boss. I seriously love everything! Everything fits so perfectly, it's not cheap but still pretty affordable compared to some other high-end brands. I bought a navy and charcoal suit, classics I'm pretty sure will last me a very long time. I still can't believe how well they fit , only require minor alteration (unlike Theory blazers), hugs my body so well but at the same time so professional ! I'm in love

Theory suits are nice but ever since I discovered Boss, I will stay with Boss from now on.
