I feel like I’ve just realized that hobos are my favorite style of bag, hands-down. I like to walk a lot, and to have a book or iPad with me as I pop into a coffee shop or restaurant, and/or to have space to put a thing or two I pick up as I walk and peruse shops etc. I don’t enjoy walking with large-ish crossbodies nearly as much.

The hobo I currently use most often is a red Fendi Selleria Anna, which is a great pop of red and a very strong bag. But it is fairly bulky, and I recently came across this Tod’s style, which really appeals to me. It’s sleek, looks very minimalist on my arm, and the color is very, very me (as you can probably tell from the wall behind it).

But, I bought it thinking it could fit my laptop, and it can’t, so I’m wrestling with whether to keep it. I’ve decided that I’ll keep it unless I can find another practical hobo style I like better and can get for around the same price (this was ~$800 pre-loved, and it’s in great condition). I’ve given up on the laptop thing, so that’s not a criterion.

So, please share your favorites, as I haven’t really been focusing on this style and am not even sure what is out there now. Thanks!

Looks like a lovely & super comfy bag! I have 2 coach outlet bags in this style & although they are not fancy, they truly are the best bags. Held up so well for years now, in every weather and situation, lightweight and flexible w good pockets inside etc.

First place - LV mahina solar. Mine is in white. Its my favourite bag. Its soft, squishy, light and can be used for all occasions. I want to get another one but because its discontinued, it is quite difficult to find the colour that i like in the second hand market.
Second place - Hermes Marwari. I have the GM in clemence orange. Its also soft and squishy. I like that it has a front pocket so I can easily reach for my phone and hand sanitiser. I think GM is actually to big for me. But i can’t bring myself to get the PM one especially since there are other things I want to buy from Hermes.

Ooh, thank you. I'm craving something more structured than the LV. The Hermes looks terrific, but one in great or excellent condition is definitely (on a quick Google search) more than I want to spend for this. But thanks for alerting me to two styles I never would have known of otherwise!

For a structured hobo, the H 35 Trim II. Although I am short 5’2”, I prefer the proportion of the 35 to the more Eat west shape of the 31.

for a less structured hobo, I like my metallic BV

i am not a Fan of the Evelyne PM or GM, but I occasionally borrow DHs Evelyne sellier GM

and not a hobo, but carries a lot and can be worn on the shoulder: the Victoria 35

honorable mention to the picotin TGM which is very deep. So either fun or irritating to carry depending on POV

trim 35s (clemence and barenia; crinoline trim 31; metallic BV; Evelyne sellier GM; Evelyne Pm;

Thank you, the 35 Trim II looks great. I'll definitely see what I can find, although I suspect anything Hermes will be outside my budget.

I LOVE your metallic BV hobo. I'm a huge fan of BV in general, and of the BV Loop hobo in particular, but don't know how well the shape would hold up. I tend to carry a lot in my hobos.

Thanks. During Covid, trim 35s were approx 600-800 USD from Japanese resellers (When I got these)
BV is usually better priced depending on condition. Although prices have gone up, I really feel that they are cyclical (I already sense the market softening for larger sizes. happy shopping :smile:

ETA: I believe the BV cervo hobo is larger and very sturdy (during Covid I saw them for 400 USD at resale)
