Good afternoon,
Has anyone had problems with Fashionphile changing their prices. I was going to purchase a Chanel medium flap and when I went to purchase the bag the price had an increase by several dollars. When I called Fashionphile the customer service rep. told me that they made a mistake and they would call me but never did. I just called back and they said that Chanel went up that's why they went up. Is this really ethical when this bag was purchased several years ago? What are your thoughts?

Well, they're a business. They can honestly do almost whatever they want when it comes to increasing prices.
Is it ethical, well, that probably subjective, but it does feel unfair or a little sneaky/under-the-table.
Does it surprise me? No.
Especially since it's resale/pre-loved. Since the bag is no longer being sold by the original brand, and technically is used, then they can charge whatever price they want.

It's a little different when a retail store honors the old/original price on the tag, for instance, if you saw a lower price online vs in-store. Some stores honor the old price due to their policy. Some don't have such a policy but will let things slide based on subjective decision by management.
And some may say, sorry, we forgot to update our price tag, but that's the price we're selling to you now (in which then I would probably decline to buy, based on personal principles.)

Now, if you had already purchased the item and paid, let's say $4k, but they charged $4010 without rhyme or reason or whatever is related to their policies in the fine print, well, then that's not just unethical, it's probably illegal even if it is just $10.
