So Fashionphile's dust bags stink - they smell like those cheap taxi "air fresheners" in the men's cologne scent. They're either washing the dust bags in something or spraying them with something as all their dust bags smell like this.

I just receivied two new bags packaged in Fashionphile dust bags instead of in the dust bags that came with the bags. The bags I've bought from them before have come in boxes or I've contacted customer service to skip the dust bags. This time, I couldn't get through to customer service in time. I love both bags and otherwise would have kept them, but the smell is strong, really unappealing and I think I'm allergic to it - it's giving me headaches and itchy eyes. Has anyone had any experience with waiting for this smell to fade?

In other news, why on earth are they doing this? The smell of Balenciaga, Bottega, Hermes leathers is amazing. I don't want to smell like a dirty taxi. Even if I liked the smell, why ruin the leather smell? Why ruin someone's own selection of perfume, personal care products, etc?

I had the same experience recently. Strong chemical odor that didn’t dissipate after being unboxed for several days. Returned the bag.

I know the exact smell you’re talking about. I had this happen to 2 different bags I bought from there. It seems to happen more from the Cali location. I’ve never had anything with that smell from other locations. I aired them out for 6 months, did ozone treatments, put charcoal bags in them, etc. and they still smell. I don’t know if it’s the dust bags or just the location itself bc one of my stinky items was in an LV dustbag.

Ok, that is super helpful. I have to decide tomorrow whether to return them and whether or I could get rid of the smell was a huge factor.

I had assumed it was the dust bags as they smell the worst, but if they're stored in the Fashionphile dust bags and the location smells maybe that's it. It's such a distinctive (and unappealing) smell that I can't believe people aren't complaining more / they're not addressing it
