I normally don't do reveal threads for things, but I wanted to share this one. I can't take photos of things up close to save my life, especially jewelry, so I'm going to link the listing.

This is such a fantastic ring! I love it and the prices in her shop are so reasonable. If you like different colors of topaz and sapphire, give it a look. I am so happy with this ring and my photo does not do it justice. I can't capture the color or the details, because I have the photography skills of a 2 yr old. It looks just like the listing photos, but is just a touch darker, so ignore my bad photo. Here is a shot on my hand though.

Just wanted to share!

That is really gorgeous!! I really love that color too, wear it in good health :D. Know whats funny?? I was looking for some gemstone stack rings and happened to tumble into that specific shop earlier (before seeing your thread) so when I clicked on the link to her shop I was like "whaaaa? LOL deja vu!". I was thinking of picking up a few of her stack rings! How is she as a seller? good communication and shipping time? How about the quality of the ring itself? Thanks!

^ The communication was not great. She updated the shipping and receipt of order within etsy, but no emails or messages. I prefer to have an email from the seller saying they have the order and a note when it is shipped, but she did update through the system though. I have had that with other sellers though too, so it is not just her.

It shipped very quickly though and that was even with sizing, which is free. I sized up a half size and am glad I did. I normally wear a 7 on my ring finger on the right side and went to a 7.5 b/c of the width of the ring. I am happy I did that and it fits perfect. I anticipated this being a tighter fitting band b/c the ring is full finger coverage. She is in Thailand and it took about 2 weeks to get here from the date of purchase. I think that is quite reasonable. The ring itself is really nice quality and I am blown away buy the price point v. the quality. The band is a very nice thickness and width for the ring- not a flimsy setting at all. The topaz stones are lovely and are cut well, w/ a wonderful color to them. I plan to buy other things from her, even though the communication could be improved. HTH!

ETA: If you are a member of BJ's Wholesale club and want stacking rings, look there maybe. I know store selection varies, but worth a try. I found mine there on a trip w/ my mom. I got a set of six in silver w/ 14kt bezel settings on some for $60! They are like this in style:

This is a pretty cool stacking set too I just saw on their site:

http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.asp...igID=15619fc&cmPosID=2&CmCatId=EXTERNAL|57536

My set has a large blue topaz instead of amethyst though and amethyst in a smaller ring instead of garnet. The bezel heads are 14kt gold on 2 or 3 of them too. She put them away for Christmas for me.

Elizat,
its a beautiful ring and the shop has some pretty things at reasonable prices. I especially like their leverback earrings and rings, I will probably like a matching set of those.
its always great when somebody puts up their etsy finds as I find their search function somewhat cumbersome and you really have to sift through to find the real treasures.

Hi Mentha! I know you like jewelry too, so I am glad you saw the thread. It is nice to "see" you! Hope you have been doing well.

I just bought this ring:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20915454

For $30, I couldn't help myself. I've never seen that type of coated topaz and it is a steal- they have similar stuff on other sites for 4 times the price or more. If I don't like the color, I have an aunt that would really like it and I'll put it aside for a holiday gift.

Hi Elizat, I am fine, hope you are doing well. I keep track of the ignes chat but haven't posted there for sometime. Yeah, I love finding interesting jewelry.
I love cooking so will be checking your blog btw. :smile1:

believe it or not I had added the ring you bought to my favorite list, since it had a matching pair of studs too, you beat me to it,looks lovely.

I am looking at buying a pair of earrings and a ring.

I have narrowed it down to these selections, I haven't bought these stones before, will be great if you let me know your opinion,

would love to know other opinions too

I bet if you asked her to make another of the ring I bought, she would, if she has the stones. She does custom orders and I've seen her list a few custom ones, so it seems to be pretty normal for her. It is worth a shot to ask her and if she doesn't have the stones now, maybe she can get them in.

Of your choices posted, I love the mystic fire ring and the leverback earrings. I have a mystic fire ring my mom bought me some time ago on a trip and it is beautiful! Mystic fire topaz has really pretty purples, greens and sometimes pink flashes. It is such a lively stone! I love it.

London blue is so pretty in person. Those earrings are beautiful in the london blue and I looked at those today myself. I prefer the mystic ring over the london blue ring though b/c the setting is really interesting (and the stone looks lovely). I think it comes down to what color you prefer. Do you want blue or the multi-color flashes of the mystic? I have never owned mercury mist before, so the ring I ordered today is a first for me. I think both would be really great choices for a matching set, but depends on your color preference.

Okay, Mentha. I just took a few photos of my mystic topaz ring for you to get a better idea of the colors you might see. It was dark and in artificial light and my photos are terrible, but maybe it will help w/ what you pick w/ the mystic v. blue. My ring has more purple than the ring in her shop. Sorry, my photos are terrible.

Elizat,

Thanks a lot for the photos and insights, really appreciate it.
The mystic fire ring setting is definitely more interesting
but I am liking the color of the stone in your ring then hers, as I am more partial to purples/blues as compared to green and pink. So I think I will get the london blue.

the multicolor will be more versatile but I would have gone with it if the stone had predominant purple tones like yours.

I love the mercury mist ring but I think I prefer drop earrings to studs, if she has drops in those I will probably decide between those and the london blue.

Do let me know when you get your ring, I am curious to know how you like the stone and I will post about mine too.

Bumping this up b/c the mercury mist ring arrived! I love it! It is so pretty, but this stone is really hard to capture on photo.

Did you get your order yet Mentha?

Here are a few (bad) photos of the ring:

I've been super happy w/ both rings and plan to order some earrings and other odds and ends for holiday gifts for family/friends (and, well, myself too). :p
