I was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast around the Marina area and since I was early, I decided to do a little window shopping.

My eyes literally popped out of their sockets when I walked pass the Everbest shoe shop. There are shelves (at least 2 tiers and 2 rows) full of fake Birkin, Kelly, Kelly Lakis, Picotin, Garden Party and Bolide and there's a huge variety of leather type and colours to choose from!! Yes, including "crocs" and "ostrich" skin.:push:

I mean I always know that fakes are treated in an "underground" manner all over the whole world but to spot them being sold so openly and in such huge quantity is such a shock to me, especially it's sighted in one of our main shopping areas. Goodness, can't Hermes do something about this?

I wanted to do a Queenie and post some pictures here but with no shopping crowd in the morning and with 4 pairs of SA's eyes staring at me, it was near impossible to do it.

I still can't believe what I saw:wtf:

I saw it from outside the Everbest sto re when I was at Marina Square last weekend. Actually it was DH who pointed it out to me. I think they are Hermes-inspired bags. I doubt they put Hermes stamping on it. Notwithstanding that, not a pretty sight at all!!!

I guess it's legally hard to put a stop to "inspired" bags, although I don't really have a clue as I'm not a lawyer! Every time I pass URS stores I see many BV and Gucci lookalikes too. I wonder if Hermes and the other luxury brands trademark their designs. That would help I imagine.

OMG! I cannot believed that this can happen in Singapore!
If these bags have the stamps it, please report either to the Singapore Custom Department or H Store in Singapore if you are still in Singapore. :cursing:
Recently there is a news about an ex-SA (Hermes) in Tawan sold many counterfeit Birkin to the customers and eventually found out. Hermes Paris asks for millions /billions of compensation.

They are not being sold as Hermes, just using close copies of the designs. I am not sure what the law on product design copyright is, but it might be possible that varying dimensions and proportions slightly may be considered legal. Not a proud moment, certainly, but I think they might not actually be breaking the law.

It's quite common, I have seen inspired croc bags at a shop in 5th floor NAC, I never dare to step in. The bag section in Tangs Ochard 1st floor, near the cosmetics counters, even have ostrich and croc selling at $3k +, I was totally boogled when I saw the design, not to mention the price tag! Hush Puppies have inspired BV bags too.
