crazy question for iPhone users.

I'm sitting with a friend discussing a picture/screenshot of a text conversation she received. I notice the text looks weird. At the top it says To: Alexis then in blue is the initial text and below that in grey is "Alexis" response. Why is there a to: field still showing? Shouldn't the person's name be at the of the text with a circle that allows you to put their picture?? I told my friend the screenshot has to be a fake conversation (to make it look like the conversation actually took place). Also, why does it say New iMessage at the top and cancel? Am I right???

This is a screenshot from
My iPhone is IOS 10. To a friend of mine's.

Edited to add: when you are starting a message the cancel is normal.when you don't have previous messages saved on your iPhone to that particular contact.

We figured it out and it wasn't fake BUT, she was told that the person "Alexis" was deleted from the sender's phone, so it didn't make sense how her name could pop up like that (if her info was deleted from the phone).
