FAKE Bottega Veneta from Bergdorf Goodman

my lovely husband ordered a veneta large ebano from bergdorf goodman few days ago and we finally recevied it today...
i was so happy to see the box and opened it.... and... and...
fake veneta was in the box... how do i know? there is no anthenticity tag .. is it possible that there is no authenticity tag in the bag???:rant::mad: what am i gonna do??? i am so pissed!!!!! there is no bergdorf good in my area... it is not even right color... they sent me black veneta!
i m sooooo pissed!!!

OMG~ So sorry to hear that...
I think you better call the customer number right away and let them know about this issue.
You can either return it or ask for the right one.
I believe they will take care of it.

I'm so sorry that this has happened!!

I don't know any reason that the authenticity tag wouldn't be in the bag. I don't emy veneta with me, so i can't remember exactly where the tag should be, but my guess is inside the pocket on the inside of the bag.

You need to call them and explain what happened. I am sure they will be apologetic and will pay for shipping the bag back.

First of all, if the color is wrong, they need to take it back, shipping at their expense. As to authenticity, did you turn the pocket inside out to be sure it's not sewn in there? On the Veneta, that's where the tag is found.

i bought camino veneta last year and returned it.. b/c i wanted a darker color...
so i know where the authenticity tag is...
i was thinking of bring the bag to bottega veneta boutique... kinda far though...

i don't think the boutique will take back a bag bought at bergdorfs but maybe they can authenticate. sometimes the tags aren't well sewn in and maybe it came loose. i had this happen on a wallet. the wallet was absolutely authentic and when i got it there was a tag but it came loose.

i just finish talking to customer service at BG. she said veneta hobo in ebano has been discontined ... :amazed: oh well.. i guess i ll just return it and get it from somewhere else...
she wasn't so apologetic.. she kept saying 'return the item for full refund'...
very bad experience with Bergdorf.. i ll never buy anything from them again... :ban:

Kim - so sorry this happened to you. someone else reported a similar issue a month or so ago. i don't remember what retailer she got the bag from though.

a couple things,

ebano is NOT discontinued. it is a classic color and style. if you want one, buy it off the BV website or call up your SA and have one sent to you. if you need an SA recommendation, you can PM me, or any of us really and we will provide contact information for you.

check out http://forum.purseblog.com/bottega-...-posting-in-authentication-thread-412144.html for a list of pix we need to confirm authenticity and post in the authentication thread if you really want to get rid of any doubts. we have discovered that bags made for non-BV stores may have different details than BV store bags.

BG should make the purchase right and refund you for the nero.

Bottom line, BG sent the wrong color-they need to pay for the return and if they have no Ebano Venetas (why did they accept the purchase if they think it's been discontinued???) they must refund your dh's money.

They don't know what they are talking about. If Ebano Venetas are EVER discontinued, I'll be the most shocked person ever. It's simply not true. Maybe they won't carry them, in which case, they should never have "sold" dh one, then send a Nero, as if you wouldn't notice. You and all of us are smarter than that.

I'm angry on your behalf. Their customer service needs to step up and make this right along with an apology.

It's one of the drawbacks of buying designer brands from a department store. In some cases, there are specialists in certain designers (Charlotte NM has a delightful Chanel rep.), but usually those of us here are better informed about BV than the store itself.

^they don't do it on purpose. i imagine what happened is someone did a bait & switch on them (bought a real bv and returned a fake).

Is there any reason other than the missing tag that makes you think this is fake. Does the leather look different from the carmino one?

i m home now and check the bag again... it is a FAKE veneta.. i showed some veneta bags on ebay to my hubby and even he said mine looks fake. :sad:
yes.. ReRe.. leather looks different.. i ll post some pictures tonight or tomorrow...

Did you order the bag online or from the store? If from the store, I believe Jody is the BV specialist.
