Hi, i could not pass on this subject, so i had to post it here.
Is this really true?:confused1: I was reading a post on korean forum called "make up" and one of the member claimed that she knows some person in the luxury industry who claims that fake bags are sold in duty free stores; especially in Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. He apparently adviced her to buy bags directly from the store if she wanted to get the real deal. I obviously dont think this is true, but few years ago someone reported that she got a fake bag from duty free. She didnt know she got a fake one till she went to the store to get her bag repaired. This was on the news...so i really dont know who to believe.:confused1: Can anyone warrant this??:shrugs:

thanks~

I can't think of any possible way that people can sell fakes in an airport. So far I have only noticed 3 types of duty-free stores.

1) Newsstand, refreshment, souvenir...
2) Duty free stores that sell cigarette, cosmetics, fragrance, alcohol...
3) Boutiques from the brand, like Hermes or Cartier...

and it's hard to believe there're fakes from them...

Hey there,
I have been to few international airports especially Japan. Japan is very tight about fake items and they even have warnings displays for tourists to tell them not to buy fake items. Some terminals have cabinet display that shows the fake LV vs. the real LV. So I dont' think they can sell anything fake in the Duty Free.

That's news to me. I would be very surprised if the items are fake. Duty-free stores are actually stores out in the open. How would they be able to sell fakes and not be caught?
