Dear bag lovers,

I bought a vintage classic flap on Verstaire Collective about a month ago. The price was good and I wanted to spa it myself. When I received the bag I had immediate authenticity doubts. That's why I placed an ad on Vestiaire with the same bag to see if it passed the check. This was not the case as she could not establish its authenticity. Fortunately I had left the card attached to the bag and I was allowed to return it to Vestiaire. I did that about 3 weeks ago and saw on the track and trace that it arrived but I have not heard anything from Vestiaire in all that time. I almost contacted them 3 times to inquire myself. Paid through Klarna and saw in the app that it was not yet completed and I don't want any problems. Now they say that the bag is authentic after extra check and that they are sending it back to me.
I definitely don't want this bag anymore. Never get a piece of mind with this item and always keep asking me if it is real. All Chanel vintage bags are branded in the logo of the 24-carat gold hardware. This bag doesn't have it. In addition, the inside is an authentic bag. A loose pocket and no continuous lining. The chain is shorter and the leather does not feel the Chanel vintage quality. I do not agree to receive the bag back and want a refund.
Does anyone have any tips what I can do?

In addition, I would like to say that of the last 4 orders on Vestiaire, none have gone well. Two have been cancelled, this bag is fake and the fourth order I loved but it didn't pass the inspection because the bag was painted. But I was aware of this and would love to receive the bag.
I've gotten really angry about it now. Do you have experiences or tips?

Kind regards Xx

All 24k bags have an indent in the logo right? It should be from 1996/1997

As double checking, our expert team truly believe that the item is authentic for this following reason:
"CC conforms, Diamond ok, Chain conforms, Clasp and engravings ok, Made In and claw conform, Tassel although with traces of stripes conforms, Authenticity card ok"

The bag looks authentic to me. The indent on the logo is true for CC turn knob bags made in France before 2009. This is a button closure so it doesn’t have an indent. I have seen this bag many times online, and it doesn’t have an indent on the CC.

For example, this is the same bag but in the Jersey style. The CC doesn’t have an indent.440DB18F-82CA-410A-B89E-6092241BE7F7.png

I had one before with hallmark stamp. Sold this one but regret it so bought a new one.

VC offered me to relist the bag but I’m afraid that the person who will buy the bag has authenticity issues too. I don’t want that people think I sell fake bags

I don’t know about this particular bag you have, but there are definitely fakes on Vestiaire. I think their authentication stage is supposed to prevent fakes getting to buyers (if you pay the fee, after you purchase it is shipped for verification, then shipped to you).

This YouTube did an expose series on Vestiaire:

If a bag is causing you to not have "peace of mind"..and that you'll always have doubts regarding its authenticity at the back of your head because of this experience, and that you will always have to justify to yourself and to others when selling it why this is not fake, then I'd say it is not worth it! Trust your gut and just let it go! Just my two cents.

it's possible the bag you sold and the bag you bought were from different years?? from year to year, chanel always makes little design changes. this could have been one. Kind of a big leap to conclude it's inauthentic and spoiling VC's name without knowing for sure
