Purchased this 2010 Bleu Roi RGGH Town from Erica last year and this is what it originally looked like. This bag was not used a lot so I was just surprised when I noticed it started fading/getting white spots in some areas.

Notice the fading and white spots.

At first the fading was just above the zipper, between the handles, but then it started spreading to the whole bag. Any tips on how to fix this? I have earlier Bals that haven't had this fading issue :(

Aaaaaah, Bal blues.... I'm sorry it happened. Some Bal blues are notorious for fading issue. It seems 10 Bleu Roi has a fading problem. Here is a post about it. http://forum.purseblog.com/balencia...-fading-has-your-bag-faded-esp-179451-46.html Post number 678 showed a faded Bleu Roi bag on ebay.

Some leather moisturizers like Leather Honey might help to bring back some color back. Also LMB's color restore lotion. It's really sad to see the original color has gone. I feel your pain. Good luck!

Argh! This is so disappointing! :( Does Balenciaga not cover any of these issues at all? I haven't sprayed anything on it yet, but now I'm thinking I should. Is it too late though? Some of my bags I've sprayed stuff on, but not the Bals. Putting some kind of color guard on it is useless now, right?WIll look into the lotions you mentioned.

Unfortunately Bal won't do anything, especially if you didn't buy a bag direct from them. I learned to moisturize and a water spray might help to slow down fading from this forum. But actually it seems nothing can help stopping it. I really hope Leather Honey or LMB's color restore cream will help your situation!

Hi
I have the part time in blue roi from '10.
My bag looks even worse.
I tried the BALENCIAGA creme and it helped a bit.
I didn't know there are issues with only a certain color.
Thanks

There seem to be issues overall with several colors. If you read the posts, people have various complaints with many different colors, especially in certain years and with certain leathers. What I've read on the Forum leads me to believe that the Balenciaga vegetable dyeing process, while unbelieveably beautiful and rich, seems prone to drying out the leather and Bal may not use any sort of protective glaze/coating/whatever you call it (I don't know that for a fact, just hypothesizing). I've found that Leather Honey helps a lot, but may not fully restore the color. Anytime I've used it, it has really helped, and I live in a very dry climate. I have dyed a Bal, but won't ever do it again, although others have been happy with their results. Having said all that, I LOVE Balenciaga bags more than any other; I'm just resigned to being pretty careful with them, or allowing them to fade and just enjoying the look.
