"Factory extras" - where to report, how to handle

A friend of mine just shared a post on Facebook that was selling designer bags (Gucci, LV, Chanel, etc.) that they claim are "direct from the factory". So I have a few questions:

- that's not a real thing, right? I would assume that these brands have tight control over scraps or rejects from their factories and that they wouldn't be available to the open market.
- if that is a real thing - where do I report this?
- if it's not - then these are just really good fakes, right? And should be reported to the regular channels?
- how do I call out my friend without ruining the friendship? She's not the one selling them (she shared her friend's post), and while we're not VERY close I still don't want to alienate her.

Some months ago someone claimed here on tPF this it what actually happens and it's all part of the corporate plan of the big brands. Lots of money to be made from this for everybody involved. This person didn't provide any proof though, when asked, but resorted to a bit of temper tantruming so what could have been an interesting discussion sort of derailed and was partly deleted.

I know this is supposed to happen with LEGO (Danish toy building blocks). I'm sure I read an article on this about how they now produce LEGO in China and that some of what's produced in these factories is sold outside of the LEGO brand box, so to speak.

I'll see if I can find the thread.

ETA: I think this is the thread https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ons-of-carrying-not-buying-a-fake-bag.422484/

All the 'factory direct' home parties for bags I've ever been to (and these were back in the early 2000's) were all decent counterfeits. Most designers I know would never allow such a thing.

Yowza. That thread was... something else. Haha. That one person highjacked it and took it to... I don't know where.

Factory extras and/or counterfeit, either way they're illegal so report if need be. If it's not your friend selling the bags it won\t be her that gets reported.
