Do you feel that the shippers view your business as an annoyance????

I went to Fedex this evening and I swear they were the rudest women around. I went in at 7:40-ish to drop off my eBay packages. They close at 8:30. I worked really fast to get everything together I wanted to make sure that everything was correct. By 8:00 they had put on their coats and harassed me about "hurrying up and filling out my forms".

I smiled and said, "I bet Mr. UPS wouldn't rush me to get these packages together. *insert fake laugh*"

The entire transaction was completed at 8:15.

I couldn't believe it! I am a paying customer! When I stop patronizing FedEx, then they need to worry about their future!

I would write a letter to Mr. FedEx about my experience, but to be honest I have experienced this same attitude to some degree or another with the other delivery services. IMHO, USPS is the worse. The lady would roll her eyes at me and my delivery confirmations (which is part of the reason that I don't go there).

I am sure that there is someone out there that would LOVE to have their counter service jobs and would work really hard at being customer oriented.

Anyone else have those same experiences?

YES!!!!!

I DETEST Fedex and UPS! Neither make any effort to deliver packages when I am home, and make it impossible to pick up the package, since their drivers are never back before closing time!!

I have had the best luck with USPS, thanks to a regular mailman who is friendly and helpful. Also, if you go to one post office where the clerks are jerks, try to find another. We have several in our town, and I have given up on 2 because the people there are so rude! But I found a nice little PO near my office and know all the clerks' names and they are wonderful. One of the guys who works there sells stuff on Ebay, too, and we are always comparing notes!

They definitely the laziest A$$e$ out there. Every parcel I receive from these couriers are always left at the door. A few times, my door bell rings and within 5 seconds for me to open the door, he is already in his truck driving off. I try to avoid using their service when I ship out.

You know, I always call and complain nicely to a supervisor and if I feel that didn't work, I shoot off an email to the nearest corporate office. I try to give names of the people who are rude, and what was said. In a professional manner of course.

FedEx sucks. I agree with another poster about USPS, but only my regular guy. The relief guy hasn't got it through his head the dogs bark but are trained to stay beside me and won't come out when I open the door. UPS is, well, depends on the driver. A package was delievered yesterday and the gal was really great. But I've had some who dump the package and run.

Thing is, they all know they have us by the eyebrows when it comes to customer service. It's just not like it used to be anymore.

The "best" story I have to date is I ordered shoes from NM, they were shipped Fedex. After several days of not receiving them based on tracking information, I checked and they showed delivery on 2/21. We had a major snow storm on 2/22. My husband went out to look for package evening of 2/22, after 8" of snow and ice, and they had left it at side door (which we never go in or out of), not front door, on 2/21. Basically, shoes sat out in snow storm all night and next day. Luckily, they packed the box well, or my shoes would have been ruined. The kicker is, there was supposed to be signature confirmation on them, but they just left the box! ARRGGGHHH:yucky:

Hmmm....I hate DHL. I just get the packages when they feel like it, and whether or not a signature is needed is variable.

I love love love FedEx and UPS, but I've never had a problem with either one, so I may be biased.

I just experienced this the other day with UPS. Igot a quote for shipping before mailing my package, then I went home and packed my package properly and filled out all the forms at home. When I went back to UPS, they quoted me $5 more than the original price. UGH! I asked him why the $ difference and this rude guy just said "hurry up and decide - are we gonna ship or not? I have lots of customers standing behind you!" I told him to calm down and to stop being rude! Stupid idiot!

The only courier I've shipped with was Purolator (Canadian) and they were always super nice. They're a division of CanadaPost and handle express courier shipments and sometimes interchange shipments. CanadaPost employees have always been super nice to me too, in fact, I've kind of befriended the man at the counter of my local post office, lol!

I've never shipped with UPS/FedEx/DHL but I absolutely hate UPS due to their ridiculously high brokerage fees on not-too-fast service, FedEx was okay, and I've only had one package delivered by DHL and they were okay too.

I use USPS-Priority Mail or Express International.

DHL sux IMO

FexEX and UPS I do not have easy access to.

USPS will come to my home and get the packages and they offer all of the services I need to protect myself and my customers.

Where I live Fedex leaves boxes at my door without knocking nor ringing door chime. UPS always ensures I sign for them whichever delivery staff is scheduled. As for mailouts, both have excellent customer service.

I do not like USPS - they never even try to deliver express, overnite, EMS etc. packages, they merely leave a notice in my mailbox.

I have good experience shipping with Fedex - if you set up an account with them, and have a computer, printer and Internet, you can prepare a shipment at home, print a label, take it to Fedex and drop it off. Sure, I have to estimate the weight, and they will correct it if I am wrong, before billing occurs. My CC gets charged once a week for my shipments.

There is an options button on the website when you are preparing shipment, so you can see an estimate of what various shipping options cost. I love it, it's so easy! Plus if you have an account, you get a 10 or 15% discount on shipments, I forget exactly - but every bit helps!
