Does anyone have any actual experiences dyeing suede shoes?

Ive scoured the boards, Ive seen contemplations, Ive heard the short answer yes, and the short answer no, but I have not heard any explanations as to what happens.

Please post if you have had any experience dyeing suede...regardless if it was good or bad.

Thanks!

There is plenty of posts like yours.. the search engine might help.. Suede is totally OK for any dyeing treatment.. satin too, but velvet is NOT AT ALL.. it could cost less than 20$ to have it done by professional cobblers.. remember you only can go darker than the original color so think about the right shade and of course, be careful =)

You can look in the other forums to for people's experience dyeing suede. It does not have to be CLs. I know most people in CL advise against it.

shouldnt a higher quality suede mean it would be more durable for dying?

indeed =) The thing is just that they would not like to take the risk to ruin such a pair of shoes.. you know .. "Oh miss.. you wanted a nice teal on your white satins.. well the result is.. errr.. mhh.. what kind of color is birdy poo to you ? kind of teal somehow right ..? " =):P
