Experience with buying a watch

Hi - I am curious to know for those of you who own a Cartier watch, how was your purchase experience?

Did you get offered a brand new one when you made the decision to purchase? Or did they give you the one you tried on? If it’s the latter - did you ever notice scratches on the watch from being tried on by others?

I bought the one I tried on. I didn't notice any scratches. If there had been scratches i would not have bought it.

I had a nice experience when I bought my watch, first Cartier purchase too! I bought the one I tried on, we inspected and there were no scratches. I wouldn’t have bought it if it was in no less than perfect condition.

Thank you both! I have one arriving today that I purchased in the store over the weekend that they are shipping to me. It was also one I tried on but silly me didn’t even think to inspect it... so I was starting to worry. It’s nice to know yours were both in perfect condition!

I understand your concerns, I’d be the same! I would expect they will do another inspection before they ship it out and in case you receive it and you notice some scratches, you can talk to them about a return/exchange. Anyway, excited for you! Update us after you receive it.

Here she is, and she is perfect!!!! No scratches whatsoever! And I’m so happy to have this beautiful watch on my arm I can’t stop staring at it

I know you already got yours (and it is LOVELY) but just wanted to add that I’ve asked them directly “is this a new ring or did someone try this on before me” and my SA said they always bring new pieces and polish those that people try on, but I totally understand, I was also nervous lol

That’s great to know! I did ask my SA if I could have one that wasn’t on display 2 hours after I left the shop, and she told me the one I tried on was from under stock so we were good. Honestly I wasn’t sure what that meant lol and decided to just wait and see what ended up showing up. And am happy with the end result

Thanks! I got the small. Almost got the medium but really wanted something that looked more than just like a watch. I didn’t want to take off my watch today at all. It really felt like a piece of jewelry! Hope to see what you get soon !
