Hello, does any of you have the Mini Lady Dior in Himalayan? What's the pros and cons?
Does it have a good resale value if I am thinking to sell it in the next 5 years or so? I have no doubt on Hermes, but I have doubt on LV & Dior.
I've never seen it for sale in this pattern, so I really have no clue.
Your inputs are greatly appreciated! :flowers:

I can’t afford exotics but in my opinion Dior doesn’t hold great re-sale value, not sure about the exotics but suspect they’d be the same. LV usually has good resale value - but mostly in the monogram canvas classic items. I would only buy the exotic for love, not for resale value as it might not be there.:flowers:

If you are buying exotics that have a good resale value, then stick to Hermes. Any exotic from LV or Dior will depreciate dramatically.

However, if you are buying out of love for the item, then by all means go for what you love.

If you want to get a real world indication of the resale value for exotic Dior, I would recommend searching luxury resale sites for the items you are considering buying. This will show you roughly what the depreciation would be which you can compare to the new price if you can get a quote from Dior for a similar item.

If you don't have to have new, there are plenty of "As new" exotics which have already taken the depreciation hit and you might be able to get the item you are after for 60-70% of the new price.
And if you by from overseas don't forget about the CITES regulations.

I don't have one but I've seen one, both a himalayan birkin 25 and a himalayan mini lady dior.
It does look cute but not as good as the birkin IMO.

Since's you're talking about resell, here's an idea of how much a Dior exotic bag depreciates.

I saw this bag in person and it’s stunning! But i agree.. i recently bought a snakeskin lady dior from the boutique only because i don’t think i could find the exact color available on the resale market.

I have to say that even Hermes resale for exotics aren't that great unless you keep it in pristine condition. I am seeing pre-loved porosus croc B35s going for 25-30k. Dior definitely will not hold as much value. Buy only what you love, and don't expect much return. In the event you decide to rehome it, take whatever you can get. I have learned in my years of collecting and selling that some things are just meant to be enjoyed, without calculations on return. I won't lament over the money I "lost" from re-homing luxury goods, but rather, cherish the memories I had with the items.

I almost picked one up last year but decided not to. Now I wish I had!! Saw a photo of the hima with beautiful snowy mountains behind it. So gorgeous. Really love diors metallic exotics too. Considering adding one to my wishlist for 2025, just not quite sure which one I like best.
