  1. Anyone excited about New York fashion week?

The spring 2010 clothes are barely in stores and it is still cold (in a lot of the country) where we are firmly in fall 2009 clothes, but super excited about the new collections debuting.

Here are some resources to help you stay in the loop.

NY Mag tends to have a comprehensive coverage:

Style.com will post the new shows the day after, so look out under "runway"
Also, they have this guide posted:

WWD.com has the best (free) coverage with reviews, imo

All the biggest bloggers will be out: refinery, fashionista, style bubble, bryanboy

Also, be sure to check out www.NYTimes.com/style, NY Post, International Herald Tribune for coverage.

There is also this contest to get an intimate view and win swag from the runways:

That is the only contest I can find that relates to fashion week (that isn't over yet.)

Please post your comments on fashion week and any resources you know about!
  2. ^Thanks so much, sonya!

I, for one, am very excited about the festivities about to begin. I'll be going to a few shows on behalf of Hoot Magazine (my newly-started university fashion magazine) and the Columbia Spectator. I'll post links here to the little blurbs I'll write on the shows I attend!
  3. Congratulations. I know you will have fun at the shows.
  4. hope u can sneek some pics
  5. ^ I definitely will! I'll post some here
  6. Definitely looking forward to seeing your pictures!

  9. I walk pass Bryant Park everyday. Its so cool to walk pass when fashion week has started and all the buzz is in full effect.
  10. The energy outside the tents is great. There is so much going on. It is more fun to see the big editors pull up in their towncars. I remember seeing Carine Roitfeld step out in a black puffy but fitted coat, she looked almost like an alien. It was funny that inside the tents, no one talked to her, and she almost looked awkward, confused. I love her though, she is much more down to earth than Anna Wintour!
  11. Will we be getting some backstage pictures?:graucho:
  12. I won't be going backstage (as far as I know...) but all your comments about the unique ambience outside the tents has me even more excited. I do hope that the projected snowfall isn't too massive so that I can wear heels  I love colored tights, so I'm planning on wearing a different pair every day, hehe. If any of you are going, pm me and perhaps we'll see each other at the tents or at Milk or at any one of the myriad of presentation studios. I'll be the one doing schoolwork before the show ;)

  13. You should try to go backstage after the show. It is a very different view of what is going on.

  15. Dude to the snowstorm, many shows are being postponed. PR girls are quite anxious because of the low attendance today. I was at the airport and all the flights to New York were canceled. I hope the weather calms down so I will not miss too many shows tomorrow! Some of my favorite are tomorrow!
