Exchanging SS bead earrings?

I was thinking of exchanging my SS bead earrings. I got them as a christmas gift and I have a gift receipt. Would they let me exchange it for something else, probably more expensive? I was thinking of finally getting a tiffany key. The earrings are in new condition, of course.

It depends on the store, but traditionally there is a 30 day return policy.
