Everyone, I just purchase a new Speedyb25. Everything is perfect except the brass square hardware that goes into the handle is crooked on one side, one handle. Pictures to follow. I’m thinking, should I let the Vachetta soften up and wait or return it. Thank you.

Oh dear... I recently bought the same bag, but in MonoM. It looks like whomever was sewing the handles on had their head turned or reversed their contact lenses that day .... you deserve as close to perfect bag for the prices they are asking these days....hurry and exchange this !!!

Yeah, I'm not sure. I think maybe it's sewed so that if you hold it up the handles will tilt? idk
I think it's just because it's new so the handles are a bit stiff and want to splay outwards. After some use it'll probably straighten out. That's my guess anyway. I probably wouldn't return it but that seems to be the minority opinion.

It's not like the hardware is glued to the leather--------there ought to be room for it to move and adjust when the bag is held by the handle ----esp with some weight in it

Exactly. It just got a little misshaped in the warehouse. The stitching is nice and perfect, the alignment is neat, the leather is nice. It is a soft bag with soft leather, just put stuff in it and either hang it by the handles for a few days or carry it. It will adjust, it is cowhide afterall, not steel.

I like your answer. And I hope because you guys are experienced that it will in time soften, straighten, and be the “ perfect” LV we know.

It should return to its normal shape in a week. Use it and when not in use, hang it by the handles, preferably full. If it is still like this after a week, you can return it and prove with your current photos that is was like this originally. But VVN leather is not rigid, it will be fine.

My speedy in DE was like that when I first got it. It’s just because it’s new and the leather needs to soften. If you feel it’s something more than that then I would return for a different one.
