I’m looking to get a top handle bag that also has a strap to wear crossbody/on the shoulder. I’m want it to be more structured and great for everyday. I have several smaller crossbody bags and some larger shoulder bags. I want something I can use everyday that isn’t too big but can still fit essentials. I’ve been looking for something in gray leather with silver hardware as many of mine already have GHW.

I’ve had my eye out for a YSL medium Cassandra top handle in graphite and finally found one on fashionphile, but once I received it the quality was not as listed so I’m sending it back.


I would love an Hermès Kelly one day, but I’m not looking to spend that much right now for an everyday bag. I would like to be able to put a twilly on the bag I get.

Anyone have any suggestions for something similar to the ysl Cassandra top handle, maybe around the 3k range?

How about a pre-owned medium Lady Dior? I got mine a few months ago, and it definitely checks a lot of your boxes!

This is my first lambskin bag, and while I’ve only had it for a few months - and admittedly babied it - so far so good. According to many of the Dior experts on this forum, Dior’s lambskin is supposedly a lot more durable than some of the other designers. The only place I’ve seen a scratch is on the top, closure flap of the bag, which does seem to be softer than the rest of the purse.

ETA - the leather of the bag is gorgeous - it looks and feels incredible!

When you say the quality was not as listed, was it just poorer condition than anticipated, or that the design itself is not good quality? Because if you think the bag is overall good quality and it still fits your wish list, I would just keep searching for another YSL Cassandra. It's very pretty!

It was listed as “excellent” and there were issues with the strap coming unstitched and cracking in the glazing over the leather. It’s a 2019 bag that you can tell hasn’t had much wear at all. I feel the bag is poor quality if it’s having these issues already. It doesn’t give me much faith another one wouldn’t have the same issues over time. I’ll attach some pics.

I was very disappointed because it’s a beautiful bag aesthetically.
