Hi Everyone,

I am interested in purchasing something from vca but at these prices I would want to get the most wear out of whatever I bought. For those of you with some of their pieces, could you please let me know your thoughts on durability and whether you can wear any of these items 24/7 without damaging them or having them show wear?

I have done some research on here and items with stones (which is what they are known for) are delicate and you shouldn’t leave them on but what about the all gold or even diamond pieces, like the sweet pendant for example? I would be interested in a pendant, the 5 motif bracelet or a pair of earrings to start. Would any of these be more durable over the others? TIA

I started out with the MOP vintage Alhambra earrings as well as the onyx about 6-7yrs ago and still wear these as my everyday go to earrings. They are comfortable and strong/durable. For a little more bling, I added the diamond Alhambra earrings - they are surprisingly comfortable and just gorgeous. I think it generally depends on what you enjoy wearing the most and start from there - I have always been an earrings and bracelets girl so the decision was relatively easy when making that first purchase.

Do you take the mop or onyx off before showering etc? I read the stone shrinks if it gets wet which is why I hesitate in getting a stone over the gold or diamond versions

I prefer wearing my jewellery 24/7. I found the all gold vintage Alhambra pendant most comfortable and carefree for daily wear.
(Comparing with perlee bangle, VA earrings, VA 5 motif bracelet)

The diamond or all gold versions are probably better if u want to wear them 24/7. Vca definitely recommends that you take them off when showering as they recommend to avoid getting the stone wet. However, that being said, I do wear the onyx holiday pendant about 90% of the time (and I’ve had it since fall 2016) and usually shower with it. From my experience, I have not had an issues even though it’s advised against by VCA. I think it is hardier than white mother of pearl. I don’t shower with my mop pendant.

My mom wears her rose gold 5 motif VA bracelet 24/7. Doesn’t take it off for anything. Also, she wears her diamond and WG VA pendant 24/7. No issues with getting wet or other. Classic pieces that go with everything. I will take off my stone pieces daily. Diamond pieces stay on.
