I have the quilted version but don't typically carry cash. If I did, I'd fold it in quarter (USD) to get it to fit in one of the sections. I'd imagine you can't hold a ton of cash so depends on how many bills you want to carry as well. Theoretically, you could fold bills and put them in each of the 3 compartments.
