epi speedy color - red (new? old

hi everyone,

i wanted to get a pre-loved epi speedy in red but i just dunno which one to pick from ebay !

i checked the epi color reference tread and found out that, red exist in 2 different tone. new red and dark red...

new red was recorded to be brighter and old red is darker, however, fashionphile states that old red is brighter than new red.

what should i do? the photos taken from ebay seller might not show the true color of the bag. i couldnt justify which one is bright/dark red. i am so confused now ... moreover, i saw some of the red epi speedy 25 on ebay has black lining, and my bf hates it.

he suggested me to go with bright red speedy with red lining.

do u guys have any tips for me to differentiate the bright red or dark red?

which one looks nicer and worth buying? i saw someone with the red speedy and she looks hot with the speedy. however, i personally think vanilla speedy looks quite cute too ^^ guys, please help me with these decisions...

I don't know much about the differences in red colour, so I can't help you much there, however, the prices are decent.

Red is a nice colour whether it be dark or bright. I think the bright is more in your face, while the darker one is more subtle. So, it really depends on what kind of look you are looking for.

Furthermore, I'm not a big fan of the vanilla, cause quite frankly it looks like a white speedy that has discoloured (although quite evenly throughout). HTH! :smile:

I have a bag in the "New Red". It is brighter and looks better with the gold hardware. The other red has more blue tones. It is more similar to the current Rubis. Hope that helps. ;)

I have a speedy in the old red. Its kind of a tomato colour (I don't know how else to describe it). I still love it though.

The new red is darker / duller red. Can you go into a LV store and look at the Brea in Rubis? That would give you an idea.

The first one looks too orangey red. I like the second one the best and then the third one. But 2 and 3 could be the same colors but in diff. lighting. It reminds me of makeup -- you have the orange-reds or the blue-reds. I like the blue-reds better---not too fire enginey:P

wow seems like everyone think the darker red is nicer than the new red... does anyone has both red sitting beside each other for me to compare with?

jelly belly : hahha, discoloured white. yeah it looks a little bit like that after u said it. lol ~~!!! hmn... maybe because i tend to wear light color stuff so i feel the vanilla color is not too shocking for me. but anyway. i cant forget red epi !!! is floating in my mind right nowww!!!

I have a red epi lockit from 2006 so I guess that's the new red. Not as dark as the rubis and not as much orange undertone as the previous shade, so to me, just the right colour. It's quite bright actually and very pretty.

when is ur bag being produce?
just like mrskwok, i am looking for red epi but a bit uncertain on d color too. i wanna make sure i'll get d color i like :biggrin: LOL

also anyone else can shed light on when these old red and new red being produced, would b much appreciated... :P

My bag was made in 2004.
