Epi Shoulder straps???

I went to the Houston Galleria and tried on the Madeleine yesterday. I think the red is the stunner color in this bag! But when it was on my shoulders I realized how stiff the straps were...to the point of uncomfortable. Anyone who has an Epi shoulder strap bag can you tell me if the straps soften some over time?

my epi pochette has stiff straps too... but it is light so the bag doesnt weigh down on me.

I am also dying for a red Madeleine PM. I also noticed that the straps are a little stiff. I hope they are not uncomfortable after while I really want this bag.
