Hi, does anyone have issues with severe wrinkling on their alma bb handles on the underside? I just got one and it’s super wrinkled. My CA said the other black one he has is also wrinkled. But my guimauve handle is super smooth. Anyone else have this issue?

It is leather, so it is not a matter of quality or craftsmanship, but sheer luck. When the artisans bend the handle (especially with a heavily painted leather as Épi), it is practically randomly happens to go a little (or more) wrinkled or not at all.
A natural, softer leather like VVN is less likely to develop these during manufacturing (although not impossible). But they can with use. Not a toron handle, but my Noé was super smooth when I got it, and now has beautiful patina, and lovely natural wrinkles. Love them.
If you'd prefer totally smooth handles, it's perfectly fine to ask for another one. For the exorbitant amount of money they ask for these, I believe people can have a preference. I was just saying that it is not a quality issue, but something that comes automatically when they work with natural materials like this.

Thanks, I’m really thinking it’s the batch of leather I’m getting. My CA is really not the most knowledgeable and just says “it’s the technique” and they are all like that. Which is just not true. I’m going to return and wait till I can find one that has a smooth handle.

I have the Alma BB epi noir and there is a bit of wrinkling on the underside of one handle. I actually never really noticed that and I don't mind. Not sure if it was like this from the beginning or occured over time. It's about 6 years old now. Other than that my bag looks brandnew and I love it :amuse:.

I second this! I have a small collection of LV and 2 of my bags are Alma’s. I really love the size, durability, aesthetic, history and versatility of strap options.
Me too.. I have a small LV collections. I got my Alma BB DE 2 months ago only and I am always happy to wear it. I have also Alma PM epi. Still she looks stunning on her age. She’s 7y/o now. So happy to everyone who has Alma family. Cheers to all of us.
