I've never had my holiday pendants engraved but I'm considering it. For people that have done this, what have you had engraved? Initials? Initials of children born that year? ETA: I'm thinking of dedicating one in memoriam for a family member but I'm not sure how to word that or what can be engraved in that little space.

I haven’t had mine engraved either but when I asked my SA awhile back, she did say it could fit up to 20 characters! That’s much more than I would have anticipated…

Ask your SA if they do symbols (or maybe someone here can confirm whether they do or not?)

I did last engrave both my daughters’ names and the year they were born!
I wasn’t sure if they could do it but my SA suggested to try and see. And it worked! It looks nice and centered.

I have purchased 2 HP as gifts both I have engraved. One for my mom with my Dad’s initials and a heart symbols (it was year he passed) and one for my daughter with her name (4 letters) and a heart (10th birthday gift). As other said they can do up to 20 characters, letters, numbers and symbols available and they have font options (I think 2 options but not positive). I wish my rings were engraved since sentimental but too lazy to do them now. Might at some point as I would not resell.
I had my daughter’s initials engraved on the HP of the year my daughter was born. I plan on giving it to her on her birthday at some point. Not sure at what age.
