ENGAGEMENT RINGS! What does yours look like?

Newbie. Here is my wife's ring. 3ct E VS2 oval and 6 pink diamonds.
Not the best photo. Platinum with 18K rose gold around the pinks.

I also wear a DVS2 with Argyle pinks in 18ct rose gold set in platinum, although I’m not married, so bought my own.

Are the pinks natural or irradiated?
It’s a lovely ring either way!❤️

Maybe you are avoiding the broken relationship statistics?
They are all the real deal.
But I gave my girlfriend a blue treated diamond because I asked her what sort of rings she liked. She sent me a photo of a pearshape aquamarine ring with a sweep of small diamonds around one side. I do not like aqua - dull when dirty.
We had not been going out for long so was not going to lash out too much.
So I made the same ring with diamonds  Now we are married ;)

What are you talking about?
I was with my partner for 30 years, we were engaged, he was a Harley St physician , but a lot older than me and during lock down developed dementia and is now in oblivion with a live in carer and nurse , so I’m glad I didn’t marry..although that may sound harsh..I’m 25 years younger..I had a GRAFF ring..

I bought my own ring so that nobody can ask whether or not I’m engaged, I also have a GRAFF DIF which I bought myself…

Congrats on the ring..you did good!

Touche: My first wife ran off with the guy she jogged with.
My second wife was 10 years older than me but sadly died of FrontoTemporal Dementia (FTD is rare and usually gets people under 65 as Bruce Willis recently was struck down by).
Good on you!
Can I ask why DIF?
I get D. I do not get IF. Why not Flawless? in for a penny in for a pound?
Personally I am a D VS2 Strong Blue fluorescence fan (as was Harry Winston - the man - not the shell of a ruined business today).

I get D, I’m planning to upgrade the IF one day to a Type 11a FL XXX no fluorescence.

Harry Winston definitely did Not like it!
He had the same gift for diamonds that I have(I’m a fully qualified gemologist specialist in Fancy Colours), he only liked the best..fluorescence devalues stones terribly..this probably isn’t a debate to have here lol..

I’m so sorry about your first 2 wives, particularly no.2..

I nearly married an American at 20 but was too young and innocent to take off to New York..5 years later and I’d have gone..

I don’t bet, but Mr Winston bought some of the most celebrated Type 11a diamonds in history..I’ve owned a Type 11a diamond, they’re pure carbon and you can definitely see the difference (I upgraded mine to a Fancy. Blue)

I do hope this is not offensive to you. Not aiming to, but love diamonds to death - so tell me to stop.
I quoted HW because as a lover of Graff I am sure you would know HW
He was a fan of fluoro and I know this from older folk who were his graders. And the famous photos of his necklace that GIA use all the time.
As to type II. Many of those stones have internal graining that can reduce the transparency. They tended to grow very quickly and irregular shapes because of space constraints as a probably cause of graining.
This is a +10ct oval D Flawless IIa GIA cert:
10ct D Flawless type IIa with internal graining.png
DIAMOND TYPE CLASSIFICATION FOR GIA DIAMOND GRADING REPORT #1226732225 Scientists classify diamonds into two main "types" - type I and type II - based on the presence or absence of nitrogen which can replace carbon atoms in a diamond's atomic structure. These two diamond types can be distinguished on the basis of differences in their chemical and physical properties. Type II diamonds contain little if any nitrogen and they are subdivided into two groups (IIa and IIb) both of which are quite rare (less than 2% of all gem diamonds). According to the records of the GIA Laboratory, the 11.30 carat Oval Brilliant diamond described in GIA Diamond Grading Report #1226732225 has been determined to be a type IIa diamond. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of diamond and often have exceptional optical transparency. Type IIa diamonds were first identified as originating from India (particularly from the Golconda region) but have since been recovered in all major diamond-producing regions of the world. Among famous gem diamonds, the 530.20 carat Cullinan I and the 105.60 carat Koh-i-noor are examples of type IIa.

The vast majority of larger than 10ct diamonds are type II. And that purity factor sounds attractive.
Harry specialised in super large diamonds, so naturally many were type II.

I’m not carrying on this conversation , sorry..

I’ve known Winston since I was a teen and been in the New York workshop and seen original designs in the 1990’s.(And was gifted the book).I was sourced a lavender diamond and blue diamond earrings and ring.
If you think you know more than I do please look for someone else more “knowledgeable” to spar with as I have over 40 years experience and know both companies personally and am treated as family by GRAFF and by the previous Winston owners.

Sorry I couldn’t help more..
