Hey everyone!
So my boyfriend and I have been looking at rings for almost a year now ( I have a previous post as well) and I know that he is planning to ask sometime between october and december :)
I have a few questions though!
I've been to tiffany's several times Im sure they are sick of us by now.
We are now stuck between the following two rings:
Classic tiffany solitaire: around 1.5 carats
Tiffany channel set: around the same ( 1.5 c)
I love the round diamond and I also love side stones. My finger is a size 5.5 so both rings will look great but I am not sure which I love more. I love the look of ' bling' with the channel set, but I would be restricted to just the one band.
If I got the solitaire I could choose which ever wedding band I want, which is great because we plan on a long engagement ( 3 years) until we finish school.
Here are the links, anything helps!
ps- I have changed my mind several times but I always go back to the solitaire and the channel!

thanks in advance!:D

I own the classic design, which I love. In all honesty, both rings are beautiful. I would choose the best center stone you can afford. So, if the best stone is set in the channel set ring, then go for that one. If the best is set in the classic, go for that one. To me it is important to have a well cut/ great color center stone.

i think both styles are classic.
however, i personally don't care for channel set settings b/c i think they take away from the diamonds itself...something about the two "bars" flanking the smaller diamonds that i don't like...
with that said, i am more partial to either a solitaire or a shared prong settings, but that's just me. i may be in the minority here.

either way, congratulations!

this is such a special time in a relationship so enjoy it! GL!

I have and love the classic setting, I was torn between it and the Novo. I never really care for the channel style, as imo it takes away from the beautiful centre stone. Also, you get more options play with stacking the ering and celebration rings.

I tried on these 2-carat classic and channel setting rings in the photo. When the center stone is over 2 carat, the channel's band becomes really wide. When I tried on with my celebration rings, the classic setting looked much much better!

So I chose the classic setting of more daintier look! (but not the one in the photo). If the center stone is 1.5 carat, the band is quite wide, isn't it? If you like it, of course it is OK!

Of the two styles, I'd go with the classic band, not the channel set. Although I'd never consider shopping at Tiffany for an engagement ring - you can get something so much more beautiful for your money at a non-branded, non-chain store. That said, I think the channel set will overpower the celebration ring. The celebration rings you linked to have very, very tiny diamonds and are delicate - any of them would look much better with the plain band engagement ring.

My boyfriend has always loved the channel eng. ring and I have always gone back to the classic. I used to love the novo but I realized how much I really love the uniqueness in some of the celebration rings, especially when my boyfriend told me that he would love to be able to get me them for special occasions ( our first child, anniversary etc.)

With the channel ring, the band is quite wide and I do have small long fingers. It looks like a lot of metal as well, maybe dainty is the word. The only wedding band that looks good with the channel eng. ring is the channel wedding band. Maybe I will go with the classic :)

If anyone has any photos of their rings that would be great! Or even links to other peoples rings :)

Barcreperie- we have looked at several places with the same colour and clarity and we haven't found anything that sparkles quite like a tiffany diamond... Im a tiffany girl, what can I say, Im lucky :)

This is my classic and celebration rings for your reference. I adore my Tiffany classic solitaire! Simplest and perfection of beauty. Some people might say that it lacks uniqueness because you can find a 6-prong, Tiffany-style setting "anywhere". But, the authentic Tiffany classic setting is only from Tiffany (and the diamond sparkels unearthly. ;))

wow einseine! Amazing! Is it 2 carats or more? It looks beautiful! I see you have the celebration ring that I love as well :p

I completely agree, there is nothing quite like tiffanys!

Gorgeous! I love this look. I personally love the idea of the classic solitare and then getting different wedding bands to stack with it. I think the solitare showcases the center stone more and is a more timeless look.
