Well, ive narrowed down choice's for my future fiance's engagement ring(she wants no part in choosing). But I cant make a decision between the final three. Also I can't compare the rings next to each other because their from 3 different stores.

1st choice Cartier ballerine 0.77 g, vs1 for 9980
2nd choice tiffany setting solitaire 0.89, H, IF 9500
3rd choice birks amourique cut .78 H, IF 10 200

If you could have one which one would you pick.
Btw she wants something between .6 and 0.9 even after I offered to buy her up to 2 carat. Mind you she is very small so a smaller weight might fit her better.

However which setting and diamond combination do you prefer.
However if I pick the Ballerine I will have to propose originally with a ring that is too small because of time constraints. Thanks

Specifically <0.9? :thinkin:
I love the ballerine and quite like the amorique too but Tiffany's a classic!
Depends if you think she'll like the pave or a solitaire.. I'd personally go for the Tiffany's... something about that little dark blue velvet box that makes my knees go weak!

Good luck!

If you are uncertain, get the Tiffanys. It is a classic, and it was Tiffany that created the traditional diamond engagement ring as we know it. The design as not changed in 140 years.

I'm surprised by all the votes for Tiffany. I had thought with equal pricing cartier would have been the way to go. The Tiffany solitaire is classic and I could probably even get a better price from the Seattle store, where as Cartier is the same in Canada and the states.

Is the quality for tiffany rings as high as cartier's and what is the cut used for tiffany rings. Does it differ from ring to ring because birk's has a cut that is higher than excellent cut.

Honestly,I would go with cartier, but with the solitaire 1895.More classic than the other one,and beautiful.I really don't like the tiffany setting,I'm a 4 prong girl

The reason I didn't select cartier for this is because I don't find the Ballerine to be very...pretty. I don't love it. I like simple classics and that screams cocktail to me.

But if this were for me, I'd not be too interested in any of those brands. I'd be buying from an online vendor like GoodOldGold.com

I also find it odd that she wants such a specific sized stone, I'd be going over the carat mark anyway, because I think she might be just saying that to sound less greedy.

The reason she does not want to go over the 1 carat marks is because she does not want people to notice her diamond unless she wants them to see it. She would rather have something more minimalist and focus more on the details. I know it sounds strange but she is the type of person that refuses to carry a louis vuitton bag, a gift that has been sitting in her closet for 2 years, or drive a range rover. That is why i thought the ballerine ring. But in her ring size only 0.7 is available and that seems a little small to me.
