I've had my eyes on a couple of pieces, rings from Monica Rich Kosann and a necklace from Alex Woo, two of my favorites, and it's enamel fused to silver.

For instance, this Alex Woo heart with white enamel on silver

I'm just wondering if people feel like this jewelry technique is something that is too trendy or do you think it could still be worn well 5-10 years down the line?

TIA :)

Enamel has been used in jewelry for hundreds of years. But, as far as I know, if it gets damaged, it is done because there is no way to repair (I could be wrong) without damaging the rest of the design.

I once went to a museum exhibit where there were several enamel-on-gold circlet crowns made in the 1400s. All had quite a bit of wear/damage to the enamel, except one that was kept in a chest and not worn.
