I am buying one more piece of jewelery....and then I need to take a break for awhile. Predominately all my pieces, are white gold, SS, a couple of platinum. I would like 1 yellow gold piece.

I was thinking about the open heart with yellow diamonds...I do like the open hearts and have several...nothing in YG though. With tax and having the chain extended...we are in the $1500 dollarish range....thoughts? other ideas?

I do love the Elsa Peretti Open Heart with yellow diamonds!! I also love the plain YG version, too..

As far as it being "worth it" -- that's personal preference. You can always get the plain YG version if you believe that the diamond version is more of a novelty or is too much of an expense for small colored diamonds.

Personally, I would probably buy the plain YG version and save the difference for another piece, but that's my style. If I were buying a yellow diamond, I would buy a statement piece and want the yellow diamond to stand out!

Agreed! For four digit money, I'd definitely want the diamonds to be noticeable. Otherwise I'd be sticking my neck into everyone's face and forcing them to admire them!

(Not because I wish to show off mind, but because pretty diamonds must be admired :graucho:. They are divas after all...)

I am odd...I like the yellow diamonds in this piece...I do no like yellow diamonds on a whole. So I would never buy a yellow diamond statement piece. No clue why

Hmmm... Ok! Well, if you're looking to purchase a yellow diamond, but you're not into yellow diamond statement pieces, and the Open Heart design with yellow diamonds sings to you.... I say: Go for it! The Open Heart is a classic design, and it would add yellow diamonds to your collection without a statement piece.

lol...now you are talking! :) I haven't really seen any other yellow gold pieces with just a few tiny yellow diamonds,,,have you?

Have u seen this piece IRL? Do the yellow diamonds stand out enough against the yellow gold? I was considering saving up for this myself but I'm also not sure if the price is worth it for the tiny yellow diamonds. If the yellow diamonds are very visible then probably. Not so much if they blend into the yellow gold.

Have you seen the one with only one diamond in the middle top portion of the heart? I really like the design of that one. I haven't seen either in person so I can't say how either look in person but I feel like the single diamond looks like an actual stone in the gold whereas the multiple diamonds look like an engraving of some sort. It could just be the pictures and I'm sure they sparkle in real life but the single diamond is something to consider!

I saw this in store yesterday, the diamonds do sparkle and stand out against the YG open heart. I like this version or the single yellow diamond open heart version better then the plain. it adds some special to an already classic design.
