Eloise 85mm: Wide feet dilemma. Size up or down? Help!

Hi all,

I need your help. This will be my first pair of CLs. I have tried the Eloise 85mm (napa leather) in sizes 37 and 38. The dilemma? I’m usually a size 37-37.5 and I’ve got wide feet.

As you can imagine, the 37 fits snug around my toes, but the 38 is rather loose at the back of the heel. Although the toe box is more comfortable in the larger size.

Given the half size is unavailable, would you size up or down? Is napa leather known to stretch out? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

PS. For comparison’s sake, I have the Valentino Rockstuds 100mm in size 37.5 and they fit perfectly. However, Valentino shoes are nowhere near as narrow as CLs.

I have also tried the Pigalle in various sizes and height, and ouch! The toe box was too cramped for my wide feet.

I agree with LavenderIce. The 38 is too large for you. You will be stepping out of them when you walk.
The Nappa leather will give with wear. You can also have the size 37 stretched a little, if it's hurting your toes.
Louboutin online currently has a pair of the Nappa version in size 37.5, if you want to try it out.

It's lovely shoe. I am considering trying a pair, too.
I also have wide feet and my current favorite pair for "everyday" wear is the Corneille 85. The Corneille has a sculpted toe box that is a little wider than the other pointy toe Loubie styles. I think it is very chic in patent leather and it is ideal for wider feet. I can not wear the Pigalle and Decollette 554 (now called Kate) without my toes screaming after 30 minutes :)
Hope the Eloise will work out for you. I looks great on you!

Thanks so much @Tuscansoul and @LavenderIce for your input! :flowers:

I tried on the 37 again - this time early during the day - and it was surprisingly true to size with a bit of heel slippage. I’ve had to use a heel liner.

My guess is that my feet tend to swell in the evening, so it’s grows half a size bigger towards the end of the day. I’ll remove the heel liner when that happens.

I’m happy to report that I was able to wear the Eloise 85mm for four hours today with no discomfort! I’d highly recommend it for wide feet ladies who want an almond toe that looks pointy.

This looks like the Kid leather? If its a touch snug, I would say if you really can't get the 37.5 get the 37 and get a shoe tree to stretch them out or wear a thick pair of socks and wear the heals around the house until you stretch them out a bit. Let us know what you decide on. <3
