I had the small studded Edie, I returned it the next day because while I was using it, the stitching on the strap came loose. About 1” of the threading was sticking out. I was so disappointed!! I loved the bag and was looking forward to using it on Christmas Day, but for $228 I couldn’t justify keeping a defective bag.
I do agree with happy27 that the magnet is very, very strong. It takes a lot of effort to yank open the flap. I wish RM had just used the lobster clasp as a closure instead of the magnet. The clasp is useless and just there for decoration.
As for the leather: it feels smooth, glazed and soft, but I was so nervous I would rip it from me struggling to open the flap.
The chain does feel lightweight and cheap. It also snags on my long hair which gets annoying. So if you have longer hair I would probably avoid this bag.
The smaller size means capacity is limited. I can only fit a thin wallet, eyeglasses, a pouch full of my small items (earbuds, nail clippers, chapstick); and if I’m lucky, a set of keys. So if you carry a lot of stuff, avoid the smaller size. It’s not meant for everyday, only for nights out, formal evenings or parties when you only need the essentials.
I sadly won’t buy this bag again because of the quality and that terrible magnet. But if you guys want the bag, I would wait until it hits the clearance bin.
