I have read in the past that you can buy a liquid that you can use to fix minor spots on the egdepaint. I know there was a lady who had a thinning strap on edgepaint and she was able to repair them on her own.

There are many products you can use. Fiebings makes a product called edge kote. There are other brands that might be better. I've used acrylic paint, both the craft kind and the thicker artist kind, leather cement, fabric puff paint, and probably a few other things I can't remember at the moment.
