I've been thinking of a Toile combo for a while. But i want black with toile and Silver h/w. This(below) comes close. It's Ebene Clemence(is it close to black?), and i dont mind gold h/w. My mum and i we share bags, she likes gold.
So should i go for it?
With the exchage rate 1USD: 1.42SGD. Its quite a good deal in my opnion.
But still im hesistant. :confused1: Help!! Thanks..

chpwhy: don't buy this yet. I tried to PM you, but your message system is overloaded. I have one in PH that you might be interested in.

BUYING AND SELLING ON THE PF IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED! READ THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have this exact combo in a Bolide (except Palladium hardware). It is a great summer/spring bag without the worry of yellowing/staining of a white or near-white bag. More importantly, I do not worry about dirtying the handles (from sweating and all). The ebene color looks like black. You really can't tell the difference unless you look very closely under good lighting AND knowingly look for any taletell signs.

The only difference between the toile combo Birkin and the Bolide, other than the basic style itself, is that the bottom of the Birkin is covered by toile surrounded by a border of leather, while the Bolide is completely covered by the leather. From the standpoint of staining/soiling, I feel safer with all dark color leather bottom (not that I would put the bag on a dirty floor). However, the metal feet and the leather lining of the Birkin may help prevent the tolie bottom from touching any surface when the bag is put down. Don't know about the possiblity of bag sagging. I find the toile very sturdy and hold up the bag without sagging in general.

The bottom line is if the bag sings to you, get it!!! It is very pretty.

Aside from a Natural Barenia and Toile combination, I also like the Ebene leather and Toile combination. Ebene is a color that blends in with either black or dark browns. The bottom of the leather and toile combination in a birkin is so sturdy and is reinforced like the size 40 or bigger birkins. The bottom will not sag unlike the 35cm or smaller size birkins. I think ebene blends better with the richness of toile than if it was in black. Personally, if I saw this birkin at the store's shelf, I would strongly consider getting it especially if it is in palladium hardware.

I thought my question would be close to the subject here...

Any experiences from barenia / toile combo in Birkin? I would love to buy one, but I have no idea how toile bags are.. Would love to hear a few comments. Thank you!
