I purchased an item from a seller in Japan I haven't bought from before. I made an offer and the seller accepted. I paid, and then realized the seller had no measurements listed, so I sent a message confirming the measurements. The seller wrote back and said the measurements don't match the item in the picture, do I wish to cancel? When I tried to reply I got the message "Sorry. User is Blocked." This is on the App.

I've already paid for this item. Can a seller really block a buyer in the middle of a transaction with them from sending a message? I went on my desktop computer and was still able to message the seller through the website there. I don't know why I'm blocked in the app. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Something somewhat similar happened to me. I wasn’t blocked, but long story short, many of these Japanese sellers are listing the same items and not all of them have the actual item in hand. My seller sent me a message the day after my purchase saying that the $13k earrings I had purchased were just one side of the earrings (though both earrings were in the photos), so did I want to cancel? I said yes, and they said they would send a refund in 30 days. Then they stopped responding. I just called eBay customer service; they could see the messages and sent me the refund immediately. If you want to cancel, I would just call eBay and ask them to look at the messages and step in so that you don’t have to deal with the wait and potentially having to ship the item back.
