I have been on the hunt for a very long time for a blue Vibrato Picotin. I finally scored one a couple of days ago from a well known Japanese seller on Ebay. Great price too, so thrilled to add it to my little collection! But I came across what I realized was the exact same listing with same pictures and details from a CA seller on Poshmark (with a $2400 higher selling price). It is still active on the Poshmark site.
Do you think that CA seller and my Japanese seller are one and the same? Then you would think the CA listing would have been dis-activated? I confess I don't understand how the platforms cross-sell. Any insights? Thank you!

I am no expert but I have noticed that bags on the resale market sometimes tend to be listed on multiple sites. In fact, I have seen ebay listings where the seller is clearly another well known resale site. Poshmark doesn't seem to be the most reliable with updating availability, as it's up to an individual to update their listing and many are just random people selling items not professional sellers. Sounds like you got the bag you wanted at a better price from a reputable seller so I wouldn't sweat it.

It could be the same seller dual listing the bag for more exposure. It could also be a stolen listing where one of them took the pictures and details of the other and intend to scam whoever buys the listing by sending them something different, or nothing at all. The good news is that Ebay has great buyer protection. All you can do is wait to receive the bag and then make sure you are happy with it and that it matches the listing details. If something goes wrong, contact Ebay.

It's the way of the world.
You happened to see a cheaper listing and bought it.
'Rejoice in that news,' as an erstwhile Prime Minister once said to a trouble-stirring reporter.

Soon after publication I once bought a brand new book, from a publisher not 50 miles from where I live. It was listed on Abebooks and Amazon from the same bookseller (not the publisher) abroad
for 40% and 35% less than I would have had pay in a local bookshop.

I was wondering if the listing is indeed stolen? But all the answers are helpful, and yes, I don't worry about that Ebay seller. Have bought from her before, always with great results. Thank you!

I have seen other items cross-listed on eBay and Poshmark; sometimes you can easily tell that it’s the same seller, sometimes not (my own names on both platforms are completely different, having started on eBay at least 25 years before discovering Poshmark).

Poshmark does not monitor listings, so there are many sellers with active listings who have not been on the site in years; I discovered this the hard way, when I purchased an item (makeup) from an inactive seller (eventually the system notes that your item was not shipped and sends the money back to you). You can see when the seller was last on Poshmark (I now always check first!).
