I have long said that ANY purse with three compartments was a no-go; a deal breaker....something I would NEVER purchase....

I admit it: eating my words!!!

I purchased the Phoebe in Black Violet from the FOS sale- she arrived yesterday- I figured if I didn't like her- or couldn't get over the three compartments, I would give her to my daughter.....

Well....(eating crow now too!)- I absolutely adore her!!! I KNEW I would love the color since there truly isn't much in the black violet that I haven't purchased...but after I took all her stuffing out, tore off all the packing, and tried her on...there was no doubt. Love. Absolute love.

I had tried on the Phoebes in the boutique when they first arrived and just could not get "that feeling"- I have it now! Moved right in and enjoying this stunner!!!

My lesson? Never say Never!!!!

I had to do the same thing! When Phoebe came I kept saying how much I loved the look of the bag, but I just couldn't do the three compartments (sound familiar, lol?).

Then I tried one on in the store and the feel of the leather and the feel of the bag on my shoulder sealed the deal. I definitely had to eat my words on that one. LOL

Ummm, now I have **cough** 12 Phoebes! Fair warning, they are very addicting. You can't just have one, lol.

Congrats on your new beauty. If you do mod shots, I'd love to see one. :smile1:

OH NO! That's what I am afraid of- becoming addicted!!!! hahaha! So thrilled to see I am not alone in hesitating to fall in love with Phoebe!

My problem was with the Kristins, the Sophias, the Lindsays, and the Juliettes...have multiples of all of them.....I guess I have to be careful about the Phoebe!

Welcome to the Phoebe club! It really is a great bag. The leather is so smooshy & smells absolutely amazing. Once you get a system down, the compartments are pretty great. As Nutsaboutcoach said, phoebe is very addictive. I'm up to #4 with the DP I ordered from FOS. Was the one you ordered "regular" sized?

In the words of the wise J.Bieber "never say neverrrr!" Bahahahaha no but for real I totally know how you feel!! I had Maggie's in the past and ended up selling them b/c I couldn't stand the compartments!!! Then shopping with the bestie I found some regular/large Phoebes @ Belk and really wanted to love them but NOPE it didn't spark anything......then I came across a black/light gold small phoebe and BOOM! It was love! I really wanted a black/gold bag and Phoebe was it! It feels so comfy on and the compartments are not a big issue anymore!! I love mine and I'm happy that you were able to join the Pheebs club!!! Plus that color is smoking hot!!!!

Thanks all!!! It is the large size- I was afraid the Large would be too much...but I really like it! So what do you use the smaller, more shallow, middle compartment for? I guess I am still struggling with that!!!!

I understand about the Maggies- I really really really wanted to love them...tried so hard to love them but could never get past the three compartments....still surprised at how much I love this Phoebe...maybe the color can get me past anything ;)

Glad you love your new purchase! :smile1:

I use the zippered compartment for my wallet. That way I know it's secure... if *god forbid* my bag falls/drops, or to prevent thieves from reaching in my bag.

I actually put stuff that I don't use very often in that middle zipper compartment. I know others use it for their wallet because it's secure but I find it easier to be able to just reach in for that.

Since my phoebe is the smaller one my zip around wallet goes in the middle. I like just throwing recipes and any coupons in the middle just so I know where they are when I'm out and bout. Saves me time from looking around. Plus I like just keeping my wallet in the middle b/c it keeps it slimmed down .... Least that's how I feel bout it ^_^

This was me as well....then I got the small Phoebe....and then the regular.....lol...and now I've branched out into the Kimberly carry-all. I'd love to get the Café carry-all, but I'm running out of colors that I "need".
Glad you are loving Pheebs! She's a great gal!

ETA: Oh and....bag twins!!

Congrats!! I agree, never say never. I think we all do think at times. I know I don't usually go for signature anything, but I'm getting one of the new signature coated totes because I need a change from leather and a nice tote to travel with.

I also think you chose a beautiful color, enjoy :-)

I have learned "don't knock it till you try it" with Coach.
So many great bags that go unnoticed until a sale . Then I see it irl and am like ... How did I miss trying this style ?:p
