  1. I made this hat and scarf combo (for my sis - she loves purple and yellow) using a P size crochet hook and the pattern below. I used Lion Brand Woolease Thick & Quick yarn, which I love because it works up very quickly and is so very warm! But you can use any size 5 or 6 weight yarn that you have lying around and that will work just fine. I decided to make them with flowers that are detachable. I used pin backings that I got from A.C. Moore and sewed the pin backings onto the flowers. You can use any type of yarn and any hook size for the roses to give depth and variation to them!

Here is the pattern for the hat: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80948AD.html?noImages=

Here is the pattern for the rose flower (I made the medium size for the scarf and the small size for the hat): http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/chs-rosettes.html?noImages=

For the scarf there wasn't a pattern written, but ch 9 and then follow the same pattern as the hat to make a scarf. It takes a good full skein of yarn to make the scarf at a reasonable size. If you want an extra long scarf you might want to buy two for the scarf itself.

    Well, here's my final creation:
