Hi. The East Hampton store is a pop up, that is, it is only opened for the summer season (maybe May to October)? Depending on what you are seeking, the inventory is ok but nothing like Madison Ave or Wall St.

Have a great summer!

Thanks for the info... do they normally get Birkins & Kellys in stock? Is Manhasset a better store?

You can do very well in East Hampton - and in Manhasset. Manhasset is a "franchise" store and is actually owned by Hirschleifer's. I have done very well there with scarves and SLGs and they certainly call when they get a bag in that fits my specs. But it is not owned by Hermes, so they can't do a nationwide search for you like East Hampton can. That said -- if you are going to be near them, you should definitely stop in to both stores. You never know if they are going to have your grail bag just waiting for you in the back...

Manhasset is my main store - it is privately owned, but not by Hirschleifer's. They do get Kellys and Birkins there, and sometimes you can get one, but most Birkins are spoken for - you can PO there as well. They usually have a great selection of scarves and jewelry. It works both ways for the search - Manhasset can't search out, but no one else can search Manhasset's stock, either! Lots of great SAs, too.

I stand corrected BBC - Interestingly, it was someone from Hirschleifer's that told me it was their store. Anyway, I have always done very well in Manhasset- whoever the owner is.

PinkChampagne -- I still recommend you go to both Manhasset and East Hampton, if you have the opportunity. But most of all, have a wonderful time on your vacation!

I'm sorry, Hermeshunter - I hope I didn't come across as rude! :hugs:Priscilla is the owner of Hermes, she has been the only owner since they opened at the Americana. What I like about it is the welcoming atmosphere, and she holds several events throughout the year.

Hirschleifer's owns or operates Chanel, Chrome Hearts, Brunello Cucinelli, Jimmy Choo, J. Mendel, Hirschleifer's etc (shoe store), and has several other concessions and high-end brands in a series of connected stores further down from Hermes.

I try to get to the East Hampton store at least once a summer, but before you go, please check to make sure it's open. I remember I went once last year to find it closed (I think it was a Tuesday). :shucks: Linda from Wall Street usually works there and she is terrific.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Actually, I want to get a birkin or kelly 30CM for my mom's upcoming birthday. This is my first time scouting for the lovely bag. Do you (any Hermes lovers out there ) have any suggestions as to getting my hands on a bag in Americana (or other stores)? How is Priscilla as person? Is she nice?

Thanks!

Just came back from the East Hampton's store and the shop itself turned into an art gallery! :confused1::wtf:

What's going on here? How come Hermes still list East Hampton's on their site?

Am not sure why they still list East Hampton on the site, but my understanding is that the Hampton store won't be open this summer---or at least until they find a different space. It previously was only open during the summer, it was a pop-up store. Maybe they are looking for a space for a year round store.

Not at all BBC - I am so sorry if I gave you that impression!!! :hugs:

Regarding East Hampton - wow - I am disappointed they called it quits on the pop up store. As Hermesmonkey said, it was not supposed to be forever. Maybe the landlord was able to find a year round tenant and there aren't many vacancies this year for Hermes to choose from. more reason to go to Manhasset - and NYC, of course...
