Yesterday I went out to East Hampton to visit the Hermes summer boutique and Linda, a terrific SA from Wall Street. The boutique is right on the main street as you drive in to town and it's a pretty little shop, if not a traditional Hermes design - it's very white inside, and it sort of reminded me of a retrofitted MaxMara.

You walk into a big room up front with scarves/shawls by the door on the left, then housewares on the right, beach gear and accessories back left, bags and leather back right, then a short walkway with belts to a small back area with RTW and jewelry. There is a large print of Au Bord de l'Eau with the yellow border on the wall and the right before you enter the walkway.

I played with some of the scarves, of course, but there was absolutely nothing from the new season. They had all three colorways of the Cirque Molier GM cashmere and several of mousseline cws. Also of note, they had several cws of the Tohu Bohu GM if anyone is still looking - petrole, potiron, framboise and cassis - a few Etoffes GMs (pink and blue), some Chasse en Indes, and some Cheval Marwaris (petrole - which looks nothing like the Tohu petrole! - oatmeal, I think there was fuschia, too, and one or two more cws).

I played with the jersey scarves - the blue Brides de Gala and the blue Caleche Elastique - they are see-through! I'm not splurging on it if I can't use it as a top (and no, I won't layer). Linda and I had a great time playing with the leathers - I am unhappy with my 35 Kelly retourne in ebene chevre mangalore, (though I love that color and leather it is waaaaay to big for me) - and we decided that a 32 sellier Kelly would be more practical for me than the 28 (they had togo blue jean retourne, PHW), which will not hold everything I need, although I'm not decided yet, as they had a 28 retourne, not sellier, which I need to try.

Linda was really dangerous when she pulled out a 25 sellier in raisin BOX (GHW), which was adorable and made me , but I can't even fit my Kelly Wallet in it (although she DID demonstrate that the Bearn fits in quite nicely, thank you very much!). I also liked the small Medor clutch in Blue de Prusse box (PHW), which was cute for evening. Other highlights were the croc Kelly Wallet in vert anis with diamonds, and a black shiny croc Birkin (surprisingly not my cup of tea). They had an orange JPG Birkin and Jypsieres in red and blue, oh, and a Kelly So in, I think, Blue Jean with PHW. I also recall retourne Kellys in white and, I think, rose dragee.

They had lots of cute and summery things there, all of the SAs seemed very friendly, I think they're having a good time out there. It was just a rainy and quiet day, a very nice visit. I am glad I went, and I will definitely be back.

Oh and no, I didn't buy anything.

thanks BBC - some of the items you were so kind as to mention are making me drool and think about calling Linda :) - btw, when you use CE jersey as a top, it is less sheer due to the folds in the fabric. Searle and a few other places sell a product that you can slide underneath for more coverage.

What's her name, luliu? I'll be sure, to visit her.

By the way, Linda is in the photo in the Hamptons Style link - wearing all white and her back is to the camera...second from the left wearing a scarf as a belt...

Thanks for the tip, 880. I had worn my black/pastel Tohu Bohu carre with the new horsebit scarf ring so I could try the jersey as a top. Perhaps if you do the simple triangle fold it will work as a double-layer top, but not in any of the horesbit-ring folds, like they have on the mannequins. I can get a GM mousseline into four layers as a top, but there's not enough material with the jersey to do that.
