Earring mistake or on purpose?

Vintage Monet clip-on earrings. Not mirror images. Usually, with a shape like that they would not be indentical? I cannot find a photo of another pair like these other than the ones I bought.

I believe the point is that they are not mirror image of each other, as should be the case for non-symmetrical earrings if they were to look the same in right and left hear.

This seems bizarre to me. The leaves appear designed to go alongside the outside ear. These too look like two right ear (?) earrings from two different sets.

Yes, she means the earrings should be symmetrical to each other. But in this case the white stone and gold leaf design are on the same side. That said, some of these old vintage designers didn't always adhere to that. The earrings may still be from the same original set.

Personally, it wouldn’t bother me and this is something that would not be noticed once they are on your ear. With that said, if it bothers you then maybe they’re not for you since they are not exact mirrors of each other.

Some earrings are mirror images, some are just 2 of the exact same design. I think it's just personal preference/artistic license.

If you can tolerate yet another answer Newblue…...Costume jewelry earrings from companies like Monet in the '60s and '70s often were not sold with mirror-image earrings. Both earrings were identical. Especially when it came to clip-ons. It was cheaper to make them that way. The earrings are lovely!
