What do you think of the ring below? Should I go for a plain pear or with colour?

I'm thinking would I regret getting the tanzanite pear ring later wishing I had gone for a diamond simple pear ring .. Advice would be appreciated ..

Also can tiffanys change the colour of the stone to a colour I would like, prefer pink or yellow? Or would they not do that?

Tanzanite is a very soft stone, it will scratch. Many recommend that it not be worn daily if it's on a ring.

That ring is beyond gorgeous but its not an everyday ring. Tanzanite, as mentioned above, is very soft. Its prone to wear and cracking more so then other stones. If you want to wear this ring daily or often, I would go with the same pear design (its very pretty) but in a different gem.

I would go with a plain diamond. Colored rings are just as beautiful as diamonds but unless you have been wanting a specific color for a long time then I can foresee someone getting tired of it and wishing they went with a classic diamond.
