I bought a damaged MAC at the NYC sample sale last week and need to dye it. Any suggestions as to which dye I should use given the soft leather? I'm debating between the Tarrago Penetrating Dye or the Tarrago Leather Dye (http://www.wardrobesupplies.com/store/tarrago.html) but I know Fiebings does a dye as well. Which is best? I read one gal actually used both on her Bal...

MAC is rose/black. Parts of the rose color on the front and back have black dye marks on them so I'm planning to dye the rose sections dark gray.

If anyone has dyed their RM I'd love to hear about the results!

I'm curious about this as well. I just ordered an ivory MAC specifically to dye black. My understanding from reading other threads is that penetrating dye is preferred if you are going darker, but it will need some sort of finish afterwards or the color will transfer. I think this is why some people use the penetrating and follow with the self shine. I'd rather use a clear finish than overdye with the self shine, personally.
