Since I had my twins 3years ago I have been searching for the perfect initial discs for me. I need 3 and want them to be YG with diamonds. The only ones I have really liked are the Helen Ficalora ones, but then I saw these DY ones today. I want to layer 3 together and actually was thinking about doubling the chain too since its so delicate. I like that these are very sweet and dainty, and fairly different from what most people have. Also, I can get a WG (for my older son) and two YG ( for my twins).

Oh, another thing with these is that they are $625 with the chain but the DY store will sell the discs individually for $325. So was thinking to just get my own chain as I can't imagine these chains are worth $300 each??

Thoughts? Are initial discs passé?? THANK YOU!

I love disc pendants. I think they are timeless and will never go out of style. I've never seen the DY one in person. It looks substantial in the picture so I'm not sure how 3 would look together.

LOL! Aren't twins great?!

I just saw these yesterday and thought they were really nice amd a bit dofferent from the norm. they are actually quite small though.

Thanks to all for commenting! I feel like I need tPFers advice before making any big purchases! LOL!

I was looking at these a while back for my kids initials. I do really like them, back when I was looking at them they were $595 each and I needed 2 so I felt that was just too much money. Now that you say they will just sell the discs that is very tempting to me!

But I think only the DY boutiques will do that, but yes, that makes the total a LOT less!

I hate to say it because you're trying to stay away from buying one at DY, but the DY chains are so nice! I tried on simple diamond starburst design and the chain was delicate but had such a nice weight to it! the YG DY designs are very high karat looking too, so maybe get the pendant first and try to find a gold chain that matches the colour of the DY gold?

Was thinking about that too! I mean I didn't know about the specifics you mention but was concerned about being able to match a chain to the discs. The chains on theses are extremely delicate. My plan was to string the 3 discs onto 2 chains, just thought it may be a cool look?? Going to show my DH and see what he thinks. Thanks Candice!

Not passé at all - I loooove the idea of wearing initial pendants to represent children & loved ones!
I have a SS Tiffany Notes M pendant representing my daughter that I bought when she was born 8 months ago.
I have recently bought a RG Thomas Sabo M charm to wear on a necklace too as I'm moving into wearing RG more than SS now. PLUS I own a tiny SS initial M necklace I got off Etsy too!
I can't get enough of wearing my daughter's initial around my neck as I'm so proud to have her & I love her to bits!!! Every mother should own at least one piece of jewellery with their children's initial or name on it!!! ;) xMMx

no prob! I normally don't care about matching the pendant to the designers chain but I just noticed the colour different because I was wearing a YG tiffany pendant and the colour off DY was noticeably richer and vibrant!

Can't wait to see what you decide :smile1:

So interesting! This is exactly why I posted on here! LOL! I initially thought the chains were ridiculously priced but so glad you brought this up since you really know about jewelry! They did say they were 18k. I going to prob buy the 2gold ones from Saks and if I can find a chain (quickly) will return and get discs from DY. THANK YOU!!
