Could you please look inside your dust bags and let me know where they're made. I bought a cles yesterday and the label inside the dust bag says "made in India". The quality of the dust bag isn't brilliant. The edge of it hasnt been cut straight and is a bit wonky. The material is really thin compared to the dust bags i have for older LVs (more than 5 years old). The older dust bags are really good quality, thick material and really soft and some of them were made in Italy. I do have some which dont have a label, again really good qualiy. I've read few threads on here about quality of LV going down but what concerns me is that the dust bag is made in India. Theres nothing wrong with things being made there. My point is that every year, LV prices go up, for the same items, yet LV are cutting their costs and letting quality slip. Generally, "made in India" conjurs up images of cheap labour. The employees who provide that cheap labour aren't going to care about quality, hence flimsy wonky dust bags. Just annoys me that prices go up every year but corners are being cut wherever possible. Okay its only dustbags but its the principle of it. You're buying Louis Vuitton so everything that comes with your purchase should be top quality. If it is cheap labour, the people that provide that labour get exploited too, paid peanuts yet the people at the top get to laugh all the way to the bank.

Apologies for ranting!

Why does made in India meaning cheap labor? I'm sure people in india get pay at least minimum wage in India to make these dustbags. They definitely do not get underpaid. Some country are wealthier than the other. So we can not compare 1 country people's average pay to the other. They just don't compare. currency is different. Life standard is different. Maybe India people get pay much less than some other countries' people. But I'm sure india's living expense is also much lower than those countries.
Being made in India does not mean the quality is not as good. Almost all luxury brand's dustbag and box are made in china. After all we are buying handbags not dustbag. The brand offers the free dustbag for customer to store the handbag. Most stuff in this world will go up in price, that's inflation. I care about perfection very much. But sadly things usually just aren't perfect, including luxury. JMHO.

The dust bags I have from years ago are definitely thicker and softer. Almost flannel-like, and made in Italy. I just bought the Vernis Coq clutch (rooster clutch) and the dustbag is thin and cheap looking.

When you mention that there is nothing wrong with products being made in India, and proceed stating that "with cheap labour comes wonky dustbags," you are complaining about the dustbags being made in India.

I also don't see how made in India is associated with cheap labour. There are fabulous products that I have that are from India, and they are SUPERB quality. That goes the same with China. You can't just pinpoint one country to another and say that "because of cheap labour..."

All I have to say is, really, it's just a dustbag...It's not something you carry around everyday. It's just to store your purse so it doesn't collect dust...

That's my two cents.

I've had 3 kinds!

1. The older darker one with just "LV" on it that's a more flannel-like thick material..
2. the new kind with "LOUIS VUITTON" on it.. but it's substantial in weight and soft..
3. the new kind but very thin and more cottony then soft and fluffy..

I'll have to check where it's made for each cos I don't notice these things.. like renayamasaki said.. they're just dustbags!!!

what makes you think that the 'Made in India' shows cheap labour?because it's from India? You know the quality from India is very good compare to other countries. In fact, some of the LV shopping bags were made from Vietnam and they can still hold a big box with a bag in it with quality thick paper. Are you still think that LV shows the cheap labour?

Mine says Made in india. I never noticed it as it's such a trival thing compared to what we pay for the bags (2 of my bags are made in France and the other made in spain). I thought people check and are only concern with where the bag is made in. I know lots of people who don't buy " made in USA" LV bags and looks particularly for made in France.
I agree with flowerbobon and others, quality from India is very very good :)

I know this is old but I just got a speedy and the dust bag is sooooooo thin and not soft at all. I would be worried it was a fake (the bag smells like chemicals) if it wasn’t directly from the Louis Vuitton phone line. Disappointing
