Durability Question for Wallets (Epi vs. Monogram Canvas vs. Monogram Vernis)

Hi Everyone!

I need a new wallet and have decided to buy a LV one. I've been perusing the eLuxury site to get an idea of styles, etc., but have a question for all you LV lovers. Which material do you think is the most durable? Monogram Canvas or Epi Leather or the Monogram Vernis? I like all three, but am not sure which one to get. About 8 or 9 years ago, I bought a Monogram Canvas French wallet that lasted a couple of years, but the hinges on the change compartment are loose and the edges are starting to fray. This time around I am planning on getting the Porte-Trésor International style.

If you have any other suggestions, I'm open to hearing them.

Thanks in advance!;)

Monogram canvas and Epi leather are extremely durable, though the corners on Epi wallets can sometimes get a bit scuffed. Vernis is extremely delicate, and depending on the color, can easily get color transfer. Vernis is also not supposed to be left out in the sun (since it can yellow the color) or in high heat.

(I mistakenly posted this in the Reference section -- Sorry Megs and Vlad.)

The mono canvas is probably the most durable of the three with Epi being second and vernis being third. However, they should all last you a long time if you don't beat the crap out of your stuff.

I have an epi wallet myself and bought one for hubby 2 x-mas ago because he always ruins every wallet within a couple of months but even he can't ruin the epi wallet! It still looks brand new and he overstuffs it and abuses it like all the other wallets he had before.

Well, I have quite a bit of experience with the PTIs..my mom had hers (monogram) and used it for at least 10 years before getting a new PTI wallet (which she didn't HAVE to do, she did it because she liked the color). I had been using my Fuchsia vernis PTI organizer ever since I had gotten it..so about 2.5-3 years and it's still gorgeous! I'm using my Groom one now but that's just because I like to switch off a bit now.
If you're going to go with a vernis PTI, maybe get one in the Pomme d'Amour? Being a dark color, it'll stay nice for a LONG time.
